Eastern Railway continues to play a vital role in facilitating the smooth movement of pilgrims during the ongoing Shravani Mela 2025, particularly at key stations in the Asansol Division such as Jasidih, Deoghar, Baidyanath Dham, and Basukinath. With meticulous planning and upgraded infrastructure, the Division has effectively managed the increased passenger load during this annual religious gathering.

On the 5th day of Shravani Mela 2025, a remarkable surge in unreserved passenger traffic was recorded (excluding PRS passengers). The total footfall at the four major stations reached 48,524, compared to 31,547 on the corresponding day last year—an increase of 16,977 passengers, marking a substantial 53.81% growth.

In line with the rise in footfall, station earnings also witnessed a notable increase. The combined revenue from these stations on the 5th day of the Mela amounted to ₹34,90,660, reflecting a growth of ₹8,85,180 over last year’s earnings of ₹26,05,480—a 33.97% increase.

The cumulative footfall during the first five days of Shravani Mela 2025 stood at 1,98,881 compared to 1,65,877 during the same period last year—registering a 19.89% increase.

Similarly, cumulative earnings for the first five days reached ₹1,47,34,958, an increase of ₹24,28,358 over ₹1,23,06,600 recorded during the same period last year—reflecting a 19.73% growth.

These figures underscore the effectiveness of Eastern Railway’s proactive measures in crowd management, enhancement of passenger services, and operational efficiency during Shravani Mela. Eastern Railway remains committed to ensuring a safe, convenient, and seamless travel experience for all pilgrims throughout the festive period.
