RAILWAYS: EASTERN RAILWAY’S SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS AT SULTANGANJ DURING SHRAVANI MELA

Eastern Railway has made special arrangements at Sultanganj to facilitate movements of pilgrims from Ajgaivinath Temple of Lord Shiva at Sultanganj to Baidyanath Dham temple at Deoghar for Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva during Shravani Mela festival. Apart from existing passenger amenities, additional amenities have been arranged at Sultanganj for the comfort of pilgrims. Shri Amar Prakash Dwivedi, General Manager, Eastern Railway has instructed Divisional Railway Manager of Malda Division to personally monitor & ensure adequate passenger amenities available to the devotees arriving at Sultanganj during Shravani Mela.

Shri Vikash Chaube, Divisional Railway Manager, Malda, Eastern Railway alongwith the branch officers of Malda Division are camping at Sultanganj to elevate the comfort level of passengers at Sultanganj during Shravani Mela. Shri Vikash Chaube, Divisional Railway Manager, Malda personally monitoring that a 360-degree approach has been made in augmenting the amenities at Sultanganj for Shravani Mela pilgrims.

The additional passenger amenities arranged at Sultanganj includes the following:-

• “May I help You Booths” to assist and guide the passengers including Ladies
• Deployment of RPF & RPSF personnels (including male & female) to assist and guide the Mela Passengers
• Installation of CCTV cameras at strategic locations for 24×7 surveillance
• Provision of MDC (Multi-Disciplinary Room) manned by Mela Officer and RPF personnel
• Installation of 04 nos. large LED screens with informative contents for passengers convenience
• Medical Assistance, arrangement of Ambulance
• Arrangement of 200 nos. (approx.) mobile charging points alongwith trays
• Provision of shed for mela pilgrims, fastfood centre at Platform No.1
• Pay & Use toilets for ladies & gents
• Regular announcement through Public addressing system for passengers’s information
• Additional ticket counter opened to cope up with the Mela rush

Besides, special arrangement of train running to & from Sultanganj has been made for the convenience of pilgrims during Shravani Mela as follows:-

• 10 long distance trains will provided additional stoppage at Sultanganj
• 03480 Kiul – Jamalpur DEMU passenger has been extended up to Sultanganj
• 05028/05027 Gorakhpur – Deoghar – Gorakhpur Shravani Mela special to run via Sultanganj
• 05508/05507 Raxaul – Bhagalpur – Raxaul Shravani Mela MEMU special will run via Sultanganj
• 03266/03265 Patna – Bhagalpur – Patna Shravani Mela special will run via Sultanganj
