The Atrium in South City Mall witnessed a record footfall as the three-day colorful Amazing Thailand Festival 2023 comes to an end on Sunday with lots of activities,live shows and exhibitions.
On the last day a special Bengali language promotional video was screened showcasing the Amazing New Chapters of Visit Thailand Year 2023. The Muay Thai ( Thai Boxing) shows demonstrated by the Krudam Muay Thai School Bangkok has also attracted a lot of enthusiastic crowds today.
The Chef of the Royal Thai Consulate General in Kolkata delighted the crowd with his live culinary skills and commentaries on the Thai food recipes and its ingredients.
The dancers of the ProudTroupe, Bangkok mesmerised the audience with the Songkran Festival ( Thai New Year) dance performances in between the other shows.
Many people visited the sweet dish counter. The free Thai Dessert testing – Kanom rae – Rai, a Thai traditional dessert which looks like a rae-rai’s hive has different colours- pink, green, blue, yellow, white and purple, it is made from flour, coconut milk, sugar and natural food colours.
People also took their free photos for wonderful memories from the Amazing Thailand Free Photo Booth, besides capturing a lot of selfies from various selfie points of Amazing Thailand Festival 22023 in South City Mall in Kolkata.
One of the most memorable items for possession has been the umbrellas. Many young people participated in the Colourful Umbrella Painting Workshop and got their own umbrellas.
“It has been a wonderful programme and we thank the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Royal Thai Consulate General for organising such a colourful festival at Kolkata. Thailand has always remained a top saleable destination for us and people of this part of the world love to travel to top tourism destinations of Thailand for various purposes,” said Mr. Anil Punjabi, Chairman ( East) of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI).
Mr. Manav Soni, Chairman ( East) of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) said that its was a slice of Thailand for the people of Kolkata. “ People who have still not travelled to Thailand are very much excited now and have got some idea about what is waiting for them in that country. People also had important queries about ViSA issues and other travel related information which the TAT , consulate officials have answered very promptly and has satisfied them.”
Mr. Amin Ashgar, President , Skal International Kolkata, OTM Executive Director,Mr. Harsh Agarwal, Mr. Sajid Ahmed Khan of Thai Airways, Mr. Muninder Singh, MD of Unique Air Travels Private Limited and many other dignitaries have visited this three days Amazing Thailand Festival in Kolkata.
Ms. Siriges – A- Nong Trirattanasongpol, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, New Delhi thanked the people of City of Joy for making this three day festival a grand success. “ We are really happy to be present here, the cultural capital of India after a hiatus of three years due to the outbreak of the covid -19 global pandemic, but the enthusiasm and participation have been really very much encouraging for all of us. We have received a lot of inquiries and tried to showcase a mini Thailand in front of the people of Kolkata,” she added.
Mr. Arghajit Chakraborty, sales executive of the Gainwell Leisure Holidays, Ms.Sarita Kumari Gupta, International Tour Consultant of the Neptune Tour and Travels Private Limited, Mr.Rajesh Das, Senior Manager – Leisure & FDG of Just Holidays all claimed that the three day event was very much successful and they have received many queries.
“ We have designed a special Thailand tour package for women only and received a lot of queries which have been very much encouraging,”said Mr. Rajesh Das of Just Holidays.
