UNION MoHFW RELAXES NORMS FOR INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS FROM TOMORROW : TAFI WELCOMES THE MOVE

In a big relief to all  inbound travellers the union government has withdrawn the mandatory filing of the air suvidha form from 22 November at all points of entry ( airports, seaports and land border) , according to a notification ( Guidelines for International Arrivals)  by the health ministry  today.

“The present guidelines are being revised in light of sustained declining of COVID-19 trajectory and significant advances being made in covid -19 vaccination coverage both globally as well as India,’  as per the notification issued by Mritunjaya Sharma, deputy secretary of ministry of health and family welfare,  government of India.

All travellers should preferably be fully vaccinated as per the approved primary schedule of vaccination against covid -19 in their country.

In-flight announcement about the ongoing covid -19 pandemic including precautionary measures to be followed ( preferably use of masks and following physical distancing ) shall be made in flights / travel and at all points of entry.

Any passenger having covid 19 symptoms during travel shall be isolated as per standard protocol.

On arrival de boarding shall be done ensuring physical distancing. Thermal screening should be done in respect of all the passengers by the health officials present at the point of entry.

The passengers found to be symptomatic during screening shall be immediately isolated , taken to a designated medical facility as per health protocol etc.

According to the revised guidelines for international arrivals the extant guidelines of MoHFW on submission of self declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal shall stand discontinued.

Talking to The Travel and Tourism Times, Anil Punjabi, Chairman ( East) of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) said that it is a big relief and now travellers  will travel without any problem.

“ Foreigners now will; get confidence in travelling to India that it is covid free and incoming tourist inflow will increase manyfolds. Arrival testing of 2 percent of passengers of every flight has been withdrawn. Only thermal screening will be continued,” anil Punjabi added.
