Ekendra Sen, the protagonist of the mystery thriller movie, The Eken : Ruddhaswas Rajasthan has already emerged as the poster boy of Jaisalmer tourism in the state of Rajasthan.
The Bengalis’ love for Jaisalmer dates back to the 1960’s when legendary film maestro Satyajit Ray had shot his fantasy adventure film, Goopy Gayne Bagha Byne (1968), in Jaisalmer and then again the most famous Feluda series- Sonar Kella (1974) in the 1970s. Both movies have won several awards and accolades and are popular till today.
In the two hours and one minute detective crime movie in Bengali language directed by Joydeep Mukherjee , Anirban Chakrabarti has played the role of Eken Babu , who was enjoying his vacation with his accomplices, Bapi and Pramatha.

There are scenes of sand dunes, camel riding, staying in desert camps at night, Jaisalmer Circuit House, and famous cuisines of Rajasthan like Dal Bati Churma, Shahi gatte ki Sabji, Hing Kachori, Lal Mans etc in the film.
