NEW DIRECTOR TAKES CHARGE OF MUMBAI OFFICE OF TOURISM AUTHORITY OF THAILAND

MUMBAI, 17 DECEMBER 2022

Isada Saovaros, has taken over the charge of Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in the Mumbai office.

He will be in charge of Western India and Southern India and will also look after the markets of Sri Lanka and Maldives.

He has taken over the charge from Cholada Siddhivarn.

Prior to joining the India office, Saovros was the Director of Trat Province. With over 23 years of experience Saovaros is well versed with the travel industry.

“I am looking forward to working closely with trade partners and media in this region to make sure Thailand remains one of the top overseas destinations in the Indian market. We are aiming that the numbers will hit 500,000 by the end of the year,” Isada Saovaros said.

About three lakhs Indians have visited Thailand by air in the first six months of this year.

In the year 2019 a whopping two million Indians visited Thailand – The Land of Smiles, next only to China. And even in the first three months of 2020 about three lakhs Indians have visited Thailand, before the covid -19 pandemic broke out.
