A transformative initiative is empowering young women in Santiniketan as the Khusi Girls Empowerment Programme concludes its inaugural session. The three-day intensive training (July 25-27) equipped 20 participants with essential life skills and entrepreneurial knowledge to help them achieve their dreams.
Sponsored by Idealis (https://www.idealisadvisory.com/ ), a leading US-based human resource company, the program honours founder Sumona De Graaf’s mother, Ms Dipika Basu whose guidance shaped her career and self-confidence. “This initiative reflects our commitment to creating opportunities for young women to develop the skills needed for personal and professional success,” said De Graaf.
Organized by Santiniketan Society for Youth Empowerment (SSYE), the nonprofit dedicated to women’s education and development, the program featured:
– Practical workshops in communication, time management, and problem-solving – Financial literacy and business fundamentals training
– Self-defense instruction and basic culinary skills
– Interactive sessions with professional trainers
“The energy and enthusiasm from these young women was incredible,” noted Robin Ghosh, President of SSYE. “We’re proud to have planted seeds of confidence and capability that will grow into future success stories.”
With plans to expand and train 100 girls annually, the Khusi Girls Empowerment Programme represents a significant investment in West Bengal’s next generation of female leaders.
