With the arrival of Navratri, the spirit of Dandiya has taken over. As part of these festivities, a grand three-day Dandiya/Navratri celebration is being organized at Chhatrasal Stadium, in collaboration with Delhi Tourism and the Government of Delhi. The youth in India eagerly awaits the Dandiya festival.
Today’s event was dedicated to the youth, who participated in large numbers. The event was Inagurated by Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta. The objective of the Dandiya festival is to promote traditional Indian folk dance, music, and the rich cultural heritage of the festival, while providing an opportunity for entertainment and cultural engagement. The event features traditional Gujarati dance, where participants perform while holding *dandiyas* (wooden sticks).
It is a truly spectacular sight to see so many young people dancing in rhythm and harmony in the musical beats. Highlights of the Dandiya Festival: – Performances of traditional Dandiya and Garba dances. – A variety of musical programs, food stalls, and cultural activities. – Entry Free.
