Travelport, a global technology company that powers travel bookings for hundreds of thousands of travel suppliers worldwide, and Akasa Air (AKJ), India’s fastest-growing airline, today announce the signing of a new, long-term content distribution agreement which will provide unique content from Akasa through Travelport+.
With this deal, Travelport becomes the first global distribution system (GDS) to sign a content agreement with Akasa Air, underscoring the airline’s confidence in Travelport as its preferred distribution channel.

This partnership will enable Akasa Air’s flights, offers, and services to be distributed through Travelport’s extensive network of travel agents globally, broadening the airline’s reach and supporting Akasa’s focus on strong financial and commercial performance as it expands its global footprint.
The distribution agreement also allows Akasa’s content to be accessed by agents using Travelport+, the fastest and most innovative travel content platform, potentially unlocking new opportunities for Akasa to achieve its goal of expanding its ancillary revenue ecosystem.

With a clear focus on sustained, long-term growth, Akasa Air has placed a firm order of 226 Boeing 737 MAX airplanes, powered by CFM fuel-efficient LEAP-1B engines. It currently operates 30 737 MAX aircraft, which deliver superior efficiency in reducing fuel use and carbon emissions. The aircraft also have a quieter cabin with 40 per cent less noise, fulfilling the airline’s promise of being an environmentally progressive company with the youngest and greenest fleet in the Indian skies.
