Recognising the growing influence of food on travel decisions and consumer engagement, Sarovar Hotels has launched Culinary Caravan, a travelling culinary platform designed to showcase India’s diverse regional cuisines through chef-led pop-up dining experiences at select hotels across its network.
The initiative reflects the group’s strategic focus on strengthening its food and beverage offerings while creating differentiated experiences for both resident guests and local diners. As experiential dining continues to gain prominence, Culinary Caravan aims to position Sarovar Hotels as a destination for authentic regional cuisine beyond the traditional hotel dining experience.
Designed as a rotating culinary showcase, each edition of Culinary Caravan is dedicated to a distinct regional cuisine and curated by a guest chef from that region. The experiences feature specially crafted menus, live cooking stations, regional buffets and interactive masterclasses, allowing guests to discover the stories, ingredients and traditions behind every dish.
The series debuted with Mitti Ka Swaad at Hometel Lucknow, where Chef Rachna Prasad showcased the authentic flavours of Bihar through signature dishes including Litti Chokha, Champaran Mutton, Sattu specialities and traditional festive desserts. The culinary journey will continue at selected Sarovar Hotels with upcoming editions celebrating Abbas Ka Wazwan (Kashmiri cuisine), Virundhu (Chettinad cuisine), Pind Da Swaad (Amritsari cuisine) and Siam Soiree (Thai cuisine).

As part of Culinary Caravan, select Sarovar Hotels in Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Puducherry, Sriperumbudur, Mumbai and Tirupati will host renowned guest chefs, each presenting a limited-period pop-up dedicated to the cuisine and culinary traditions of their respective region.
Commenting on the initiative, Jatin Khanna, CEO, Sarovar Hotels, said: “Food has become an integral part of the travel experience, with guests increasingly seeking authentic regional flavours and meaningful culinary stories. Through Culinary Caravan, we aim to celebrate India’s remarkable culinary diversity by bringing regional cuisines, local traditions and authentic recipes to selected Sarovar Hotels, creating memorable dining experiences for both travellers and local communities.”
The initiative aligns with Sarovar Hotels broader strategy of strengthening its food and beverage portfolio through curated, experience-led programming. By collaborating with regional chefs and presenting authentic culinary traditions in select markets, the brand aims to drive local engagement, enhance destination dining and create differentiated experiences that encourage repeat visits.
