  • The Tourism Department is organizing the Shravani Mela 2026: Through the Eyes of an Influencer video-making competition.
  • Apart from cash prizes of ₹3 lakh, ₹2 lakh, and ₹1 lakh for the first, second, and third positions respectively, there will also be two prizes of ₹50,000 and five appreciation prizes of ₹25,000.

The Tourism Department is organizing a video-making competition titled “Shravani Mela 2026: Through the Eyes of an Influencer” to promote the rich cultural heritage of the Shravani Mela on a large scale. Influencers or content creators with 25,000 followers can participate in this competition and stand a chance to win cash prizes of ₹3 lakh, ₹2 lakh, and ₹1 lakh for the first, second, and third positions respectively, along with two fourth prizes of ₹50,000 each and five appreciation prizes of ₹25,000 each.

Tourism Secretary Mr. Lokesh Kumar Singh stated that the Shravani Mela will be held from 30 July to 28 August 2026. He said that the objective of this competition is to promote the rich cultural, religious, spiritual traditions and heritage of the Shravani Mela through digital platforms and to encourage influencers and content creators. The competition is specially organized for influencers and content creators who have the ability to showcase Bihar’s religious and cultural heritage to a wider audience through their social media platforms. He appealed for maximum participation in the competition.

Eligibility

To participate in this competition, the participant must be an Indian citizenabove 18 years of age, and must have a combined minimum of 25,000 followers across Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and YouTube.

Participants must create and submit a video/reel related to the Shravani Mela (Kanwariya Path located in Munger, Banka, and Bhagalpur). The video duration must be a minimum of 30 seconds and a maximum of 2 minutes. The submitted content must be entirely related to the Shravani Mela; otherwise, the entry will be considered ineligible.

Participation Process

All entries must be submitted through Google Forms, the link for which will be available on the Tourism Department’s official website tourism.bihar.gov.in.

Participants must provide their name, address, date of birth, contact details, a valid identity proof, and a brief description of up to 50 words in Hindi or English with each video.

The department has also specified that:

  • The video must be in HD quality.
  • The file size must be between 100 MB and 1 GB.
  • The video must be geo-tagged.
  • Selected participants must provide the raw footageif requested by the department.

When to Create and Submit the Video

According to the schedule, participants must publish their videos on their social media channels after the first Somwari (03.08.2026).

After the second Somwari (10.08.2026), participants must upload the relevant video to the departmental website within two days, i.e., by 13.08.2026.

It has been clearly stated that the submitted video must not contain any objectionable, controversial, or third-party copyright-infringing content.

Additionally:

  • The video must not contain any logo, watermark, or other identification marks.
  • The use of AI is strictly prohibited.If the use of AI is detected, the entry will be declared ineligible.

The submitted entries will be evaluated by a jury panel. Selected videos will be posted on the department’s official social media handles. For 45 days after publication, the videos will be reviewed based on their reach, number of likes, and shares. In the case of X (Twitter)retweets will be counted as shares.
