Moustache Group of Hotels reported revenue of ₹18.34 crore in Q1 FY27, nearly double the ₹9.3 crore recorded in Q1 FY26. The group also closed FY26 with a net profit of ₹4 crore, supported by higher occupancy, growth in its operating portfolio and stronger demand for its mid-range Select hotels.
The performance comes as Moustache continues to build its portfolio across three distinct verticals: Moustache Hostels, Moustache Select and Luxuria by Moustache. The group currently operates 37 properties, comprising 20 Hostels, 10 Select hotels and 7 Luxuria properties. Each vertical is built around a different kind of stay, giving the group a clearer way to serve travellers across budgets and travel needs.
Select recorded the highest customer inflow during the quarter, with Uttarakhand emerging as its strongest market. Families formed the largest customer segment, while couple stays also gained ground across the portfolio. Mountain properties in Nainital, Mussoorie, McLeod Ganj and Shoja were among the best performers, supported by summer demand and higher occupancy than in the corresponding quarter last year.
Moustache plans to add 80 new properties by 2030 through a destination-led, asset-light expansion strategy.
Deepak Agarwal, Co-Founder and Director, Moustache Group of Hotels, said, “Revenue growth is encouraging, but the next phase must be driven by financial discipline. We have defined budgets across functions, set clear return expectations for every property and will continue to scale through an asset-light model. As we prepare for the fundraise and expansion, our priorities are faster stabilisation of new properties and stronger returns on every investment.”
The group added two properties during the quarter. Moustache Select Rishikesh Mohanchatti opened in May, extending the brand’s presence beyond central Rishikesh, followed by Moustache Hostel Lonavala in June, located near the Lohagad trekking circuit. These openings came shortly after the launch of Moustache Hostel Nainital and Moustache Select Nainital in March. Together, the four properties have expanded the group across different traveller segments and strengthened its presence in Uttarakhand and Maharashtra.
With a large part of its current portfolio concentrated in northern India, Moustache is now looking to build a wider national presence. Southern India will be an important part of the next phase. New properties will be planned around the character of each marketand the travellers it attracts, with the group choosing between its Hostel, Select and Luxuria formats accordingly. The pace of expansion will remain tied to demand and the financial viability of each property.
