Sayaji Kolhapur is all set to host the Aakhad 5.0 Food Festival at Blue Lotus, Kolhapur, from 3rd to 12th August 2026, inviting guests to savour the rich culinary heritage and diverse flavours of the Aakhad region. Timed ahead of the festive season of Shrawan, Ganpati, and Navratri, the festival promises a vibrant celebration of traditional Aakhadi cuisine, culture, and community during the dinner session.
Now in its fifth edition, the Aakhad Food Festival brings together food enthusiasts, chefs, artisans, and local producers in a heartfelt tribute to the region’s culinary roots. The specially curated menu features an array of authentic Aakhadi specialities including Mutton Sukka, Kala Mutton, Chicken Lonche, Mutton Lonche, and the iconic Tambra and Pandhra Rassa, dishes that celebrate the bold, distinctive flavours that define the region’s rich gastronomic identity.
The festival experience extends well beyond the plate, with décor inspired by local monuments, traditional glass paintings, and regional artefacts that bring the cultural soul of the Aakhad region to life. Staff dressed in traditional Maharashtrian attire — kurta and dhoti, and a curated Maharashtrian-themed musical backdrop further enhance the immersive cultural ambience, making every visit a complete sensory celebration.
