EVENT : ITDC ORGANISES CYBER SECURITY CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME LED BY CYBER EXPERT AMIT DUBEY

India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, organised a Capacity Building Programme on Cyber Security at Hotel Samrat, New Delhi, today. The initiative aimed to strengthen cyber security awareness, enhance digital competencies and foster a culture of cyber resilience to encouraging secure governance practices among employees, in line with the objectives of the Government of India’s Cyber Surakshit Bharat programme.

The workshop was conducted by Prof. Amit Dubey, an IIT alumnus, a renowned national cyber security expert, cyber-crime investigator, accomplished author and writer of acclaimed books and web series on cyber-crime investigations. Through an engaging and interactive session, he shared practical insights on emerging cyber threats, cyber hygiene, data protection, cyber fraud prevention and strategies for strengthening organisational cyber resilience.

The programme attended by ITDC Directors, Division Heads, and other employees, focused on key aspects of cyber security, including compliance and safe digital practices through real-time case studies and practical scenarios. Participants were also introduced to tools and best practices for ensuring security against evolving cyber threats.

Addressing the participants, Smt. Mugdha Sinha, IAS, Managing Director, ITDC, said “The Hon’ble Prime Minister has envisioned a digitally empowered India where cyber security forms an essential pillar of our national security. As digital technologies become increasingly integral to governance and public service delivery, cyber security must become an integral part of our professional culture. Cyber security is a shared responsibility, requiring awareness, vigilance, and collective commitment from every individual. Through initiatives like these, ITDC is committed to building a cyber-aware and digitally resilient workforce that contributes to this national vision.”

Sharing his insights during the workshop, Prof. Amit Dubey, National Cyber Security Expert & Cyber-Crime Investigator, highlighted, “In today’s interconnected digital ecosystem, security is a shared responsibility. Technology alone cannot secure organisations; every individual plays a vital role in strengthening cyber resilience through informed and responsible digital behaviour. Building a culture of awareness, vigilance and accountability is one of the most important security metrics for any institution. Programmes like these empower employees to become the first line of defence against cyber threats and strengthen the overall security posture of the organisation.”

The programme encouraged participants to adopt a proactive approach towards cyber security by practising good cyber hygiene, strengthening digital risk awareness, promoting secure communication practices and contributing to a resilient digital ecosystem within the organisation.
