AVIATION: EMIRATES CELEBRATES OKTOBERFEST WITH BAVARIAN SPECIALTIES ON BOARD AND ACROSS ITS GERMAN LOUNGES

Emirates is once again celebrating Oktoberfest this year with a seasonal culinary offering on flights between Dubai and Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Hamburg, as well as in the Emirates Lounges at the four German airports. From 19 September to 4 October, customers across all cabin classes can enjoy a selection of Bavarian-inspired dishes. The seasonal offering is complemented by snacks in the A380 Onboard Lounge, an Oktoberfest movie snack in First Class as well as special food and beverage options in the Emirates Lounges in Germany.

Oktoberfest specialties across all cabin classes

During the campaign period, Emirates will serve selected Oktoberfest dishes for lunch and dinner on three daily flights between Dubai and Frankfurt, as well as on the two daily services to Munich, Düsseldorf and Hamburg.

In First Class, the menu includes dishes such as beef consommé with marrow dumplings, duck liver terrine and sauerbraten made with Wagyu steak and braised beef cheeks. Alternatively, customers can enjoy spiced roast chicken with potato pavé, Obatzter and caramelised apples. Dessert options include Kaiserschmarrn with plum compote and cinnamon crème anglaise or apple strudel.

In Business Class, Emirates is also serving a selection of Oktoberfest-inspired dishes, including braised beef short ribs or beef cheeks as well as baked cheesecake or apple strudel.

Premium Economy customers can enjoy dishes including braised beef cheeks with Bavarian accompaniments. In Economy Class, options include chicken bratwurst in puff pastry with onion gravy, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut, as well as chicken with paprika cream sauce. Black Forest cake rounds off the seasonal offering on selected flights.

First Class customers travelling from Dubai to Germany will also receive a decorated Oktoberfest gingerbread heart before landing. On flights from Germany to Dubai, an Oktoberfest movie snack complements the First Class offering, featuring smoked turkey, beef salami, Obatzter, Emmental cheese, cream cheese, egg, radishes, cornichons and mini pretzels.

Bavarian snacks in the A380 Onboard Lounge

The Oktoberfest theme also extends to the A380 Onboard Lounge. The selection includes buttered pretzels, as well as rolls and sandwiches with cream cheese and chives, roast beef and gherkin, chicken Leberkäse or Emmental cheese. Sweet treats include Oktoberfest gingerbread, Black Forest cake, plum cake, German cheesecake and doughnuts.

From 19 September to 4 October, the Emirates Lounges in Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Hamburg will also offer seasonal food and beverages.

In Hamburg, the menu includes freshly baked pretzels, smoked trout fillet on Munich-style potato salad with beetroot and horseradish cream, and Backhendl with wild mushroom cream sauce and pretzel dumplings. A vegan Bavarian cream with caramelised apple is served for dessert. Oktoberfest beer will also be available, while the lounge and reception area will feature seasonal decorations.

At the Emirates Lounges in Munich, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf, the offering includes braised beef cheeks with onions and potato dumplings, hand-rolled potato noodles with sauerkraut, Bavarian skewers and fruit coated in white and dark chocolate.
