AVIATION : MAHARAJA’S DURGA PUJA GIFT TO THE CITY OF JOY : AFTER A THREE YEAR HIATUS AIR INDIA TO RESUME KOLKATA- BANGKOK FLIGHT OPERATIONS FROM 23 RD OCTOBER 2023

It can be termed as a true Durga Puja Gift from the Maharaja to the people of the City of Joy , as the Tata owned Air India is all set to resume   flight operations  from 23 rd October 2023.

Air India used to operate daily flight  services from Kolkata to Bangkok before the Covid -19 global pandemic break out. The Indian Government has stopped all international flight operations from March 2020.

At present there are flight services from Air Asia, Thai Smile, Indigo, Spice Jet, Bhutan Airlines from Kolkata to Bangkok.

Though the international flight services have resumed since 2022, but till date the Kolkata – Bangkok daily flight operations had not resumed.

Talking to The Travel and Tourism Times, Mr. Anil Punjabi, member of national executive committee of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) has said that it is a very good news for the aviation and tourism sector in Eastern India that Air India is all setto resume Kolkata – Bangkok daily flight services.

“ All the travel agents are delighted with this news and now also wish that Air India  should also reintroduce its Kolkata – London flight services soon. We need more direct international flights from CCU and this flights will  further boost tourism with better connectivity,”said Mr. Anil Punjabi.

Mr. Manav Soni, Chairman ( east) of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has also welcomed this move of Air India today and said that he hopes that in the coming months more such direct international flight operations will take off from Kolkata  to several  important cities thus boosting connectivity.

The AI322 will leave Kolkata (CCU) at around 2200 hours and reach Bangkok (BKK) at around 0205 hours while the AI321 flight will leave Bangkok at around 0305 hours and reach Kolkata at around 0410 hours.
