IndiGo will revise the Fuel Charges on domestic and international routes, for all new bookings made after 0001 hrs on 02 April 2026.
IATA’s Jet Fuel Monitor indicates over 130% increase in fuel prices for the region on a month-on-month comparison. However, in support of air travelers and the aviation industry, the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG) and Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) have decided to pass only a partial and staggered increase of 25% to the airlines for domestic operations. With this clarity, IndiGo has also recalibrated its domestic Fuel Charge to vary by different travel distances. All domestic bookings made from 0001 hrs on 02 April 2026 will include the following revised fuel charges per sector.
IndiGo is thankful to the Government for timely intervention, without which April 2026 fuel cost increases would have severely impacted affordability of domestic air travel.
For International Operations, ATF prices have more than doubled in the last month, consequentially driving a significant impact on the airline’s operating costs on these routes. All international bookings made from 0001 hrs on 02 April 2026 will include the following revised fuel charges, per sector:
Although fully offsetting the fuel price increase would require substantial fare revisions, IndiGo has passed on a relatively smaller amount to customers keeping in mind the consequential burden on them.
IndiGo regrets the inconvenience resulting from this fuel charge and reiterates that the measure has been driven by a sudden and substantial change in the operating environment. IndiGo will continue to monitor the situation and make relevant adjustments as and when appropriate. IndiGo remains committed to giving wings to the nation by offering affordable, convenient and consistent travel to customers.
