From 11th to 13th September 2026, IHM Taratala Kolkata proudly participated in the prestigious “Bonjour Chandannagar” at Chandannagar Strand Road, commemorating the inauguration of the restoration of the historic French Administrative building, “The Registry.”

The distinguished occasion witnessed the gracious presence of Mr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France, to India, and his team, alongside Dr. Shankar Ghosh, Minister-in-Charge, Parliamentary Affairs & Tourism Department, Government of West Bengal, and Shri Barun Kumar Ray, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Non-Conventional & Renewable Energy Sources Department with Additional Charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism Department, Government of West Bengal.  Principal, Mr. Raja Sadhukhan, was invited to witness this historic event. Reflecting the institute’s commitment to excellence in hospitality, the Tourism Department, Govt. of West Bengal requested IHM Taratala Kolkata to deploy its students as Protocol Officers for VIP guests.

The students displayed exemplary professionalism, poise and service etiquette while facilitating the distinguished gathering compromising of high level foreign and Indian dignitaries and diplomats.

Adding a distinctive culinary dimension to the celebrations, the institute presented an exclusive array of Indian, French and Indo-French Fusion delicacies, curated and prepared by its Chef Trainers and aspiring chefs.

The centrepiece of the showcase was IHM Taratala Kolkata’s signature *Patented* “Sugar-Free Charcoal Sandesh with Stevia”, reimagined with a refined French influence through a Camembert cheese filling—an innovative expression of the confluence of Indian culinary traditions and French gastronomic heritage. The “Patented Sandesh” became an instant favourite of the people of Chandannagar.

The institute also showcased another Signature and Showstopper dessert, “Panchamrit Cake”, a pure vegetarian cake made with the goodness of honey, milk, curd, ghee and mishri. The IHM Taratala Kolkata counter attracted massive footfall throughout the three-day celebration. Its culinary creations and the impeccable services rendered by the students received widespread appreciation from the distinguished guests, influencers, residents and visitors, further highlighting the institute’s growing contribution to culinary innovation and experiential hospitality.
