BREAKING NEWS : MAHARAJ OF INDIAN CRICKET APPOINTED AS THE NEW BRAND AMBASSADOR OF TRIPURA TOURISM

“It is a matter of great pride that Sourav Ganguly  has accepted our proposal to become  the Brand Ambassador of Tripura Tourism,”announced chief minister Manik Saha in Facebook post.

Yesterday a high level delegation team of Tripura Tourism ministry led by tourism minister, Sushanta Chowdhury,  secretary of Tripura Tourism department, Uttam Kumar Chakma and the Managing Director of Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited , Tapan Kumar Das visited the house of Sourav Ganguly in Kolkata and gave him the offer.

Chief Minister Manik Saha also talked with the former Indian Cricket  captain in all formats and former BCCI President  over phone and thanked him for accepting the offer.

“Our Tripura State Tourism needs a lot of promotion and proper branding to take it to the world and for that we need a popular brand ambassador who is known all over the world! Who could be a more popular personality than our beloved grand dada Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, to promote Tripura’s tourism to the world! As a part of this plan and idea, I met former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly today in Kolkata at his grandfather’s residence in Behala to have a courtesy meet with him as well as an important meeting to discuss various issues related to this matter,” said Tripura Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury.

“We discussed various issues related to the development of tourism in Tripura in a constructive long discussion in a very cordial atmosphere. I am hopeful Dada will respond to our request despite his busy schedule and very soon we will get positive results from today’s meeting with Sourav Ganguly Dada!”,  the tourism minister further added.

He said that the goal of the state  government is to explore the true tourism potential of Tripura throughout the world and several promotional and advertisements campaigns have been planned in the days to come and the appointment of ‘dada’ as the new brand ambassador of Tripura tourism will give further boost to the sector.

There has been close cultural tie ups betwwen the two states of Tripura and West Bengal  since long time and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore had a close relationship with the rulers of the princely state in North East India. It is also the land of maestro of Indian music – Sachin Dev Burman.

There are several heritage tourism sites in Tripura.
