On 9 July 2026, a review meeting of the Tourism Department was held at the Ministry under the chairmanship of Tourism Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal. During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of tourism development schemes, projects, and various developmental works in the state.
During the meeting, Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, Shri Vivek Acharya, gave a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) to Tourism Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal and Tourism Department Secretary Dr. S. Bharathidasan. The presentation provided detailed information on the schemes being implemented by the department, tourism infrastructure development, ongoing works at major tourist destinations, expansion of tourist facilities, the department’s achievements, and its future action plan.
Following the presentation, Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal reviewed the progress of the development works and projects being undertaken by the Tourism Department and instructed the officials to complete all works within the stipulated time frame while maintaining quality. He said that every tourism development project should ensure speed, quality, and effectiveness so that the state’s tourist destinations can be developed comprehensively.
The Tourism Minister placed special emphasis on promoting tourism in the state and said that the natural, historical, cultural, and religious tourist destinations of Chhattisgarh should be effectively promoted. He also instructed officials to work in a planned and coordinated manner to provide better facilities to tourists, strengthen tourism infrastructure, and develop new tourist destinations.
He directed the officials to regularly monitor tourism projects and ensure that all works are completed within the prescribed time frame while making continuous efforts to establish the state as a major tourist destination.
The meeting was attended by Tourism Department Secretary Dr. S. Bharathidasan, Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Shri Vivek Acharya, Under Secretary Ruchi Sharma, Deputy General Manager Mrs. Poonam Sharma, Ms. Priya Sharma, Head of Department, IHM Raipur, and senior officials of the Tourism Department and the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board.
