BREAKING NEWS : RUSSIA TO LAUNCH e- VISA FOR INDIAN PASSPORT HOLDERS FROM 1 AUGUST 2023

KOLKATA, 26 JULY 2023:

Electronic visa will be launched in Russia from August 1, 2023, allowing Indian nationals to apply for their visa quickly and conveniently. The visa would allow entry into the Russian Federation on a guest, business, tourist visit as well as to participate in events. The term for issuing a single-entry visa would be no more than four calendar days and consular fee would be around $40.

“This is a great initiative to boost tourism and ensure hassle-free visa for tourists without much documentation. Now, with E-Visa and direct Delhi- Moscow flights operated by Aeroflot airlines, Russia is more accessible than ever. The e-Visa would be valid for 60 days and will allow travelers to stay in Russia for no more than 16 days.” Explained Mr. Prashant Chaudhary, Managing Director, Salvia Promoters Pvt. Ltd. and Representative of Russian Union of Travel Industry in India.

Russia is one of the most popular countries in the world. With a plethora of cultural as well as naturally rich destinations, it won’t be incorrect to call Russia a tourism hub. Places like Moscow, St. Petersburg, Lake Baikal, the frigid Yakutsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Sochi, Kizhi Island, Kazan and Vladivostok are some of the famous places in Russia that will not disappoint you. The country is also known for its hospitality and cuisine, making it an ideal holiday destination for Indian travellers.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup has opened the floodgates and since 2019 the VISA applications have been pushed to double by soccer crazy fans of  West Bengal. Leisure travellers from the City of Joy and surrounding areas have started visiting Russian destinations such as Moscow, Kazan, St. Petersburg etc.

Mr. Anil Punjabi, Chairman ( East) of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), Mr. Manav Soni, Chairman  ( East) of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Mr. Amin Ashgar, President of Skal International ( Kolkata), all have welcomed this big breaking news of launching of e- Visa to valid Indian passpprt Holders by Russia from 1 August 2023 and said that  it is a great move and will give a big boost in tourism.

Russia is one of the earliest countries to lift the mask rules. Delhi is the biggest resource market in India followed by Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. There are around 60 stop over flights.

To further boost tourism in Russia this year a number of Moscow City Roadhsows have been sucessfully organised in the Indian top cities. Russia contains 23 UNESCO World Heritage sites.
