ASANSOL, 21 JUNE 2023:
On the glorious morning of 21 st June, 2023, India International School (IIS), Asansol, celebrated the 9th International Yoga Day with enthusiastic vigour and dynamism. An aesthetic and sumptuous pragramme was organized with the assimilation of the home students along with 8 other schools (St. Jude’s High School, The Crescent School, Burnpur, Burnpur Riverside School. Burnpur, Bumpur Riverside School, Chittaranjan; Green Point Academy, Kulti; Kashinath Lahiri Public School, Priyadarshini Public School, Kulti; DAV Public School, Kanyapur).
From 7:30 A.M to 9:30 A.M. the school premise was surmounted with a culminating oxygenated atmosphere in propagating robust yoga participation.
The occasion was graced with the benign presence of the esteemed Director of the Institution, Mr. A. K. Sharma, the Vice President of School Trust, Smt Radha Sharma, Parent Representative, Mrs Chaitali Sarkar, Principal, Mrs Sharmistha Chanda Paul, Vice Principal, Mrs Jhuma Gayen, Primary Section Incharge, Mrs Gargi Sharma, Teacher In charge of nine Hub Schools along with their participants and lastly the teaching and non-teaching staff members of India International School.
The programme was inaugurated with Om Chanting and Gayatri Mantra followed by a dignified welcome address by the Principal, Mrs. Sharmistha Chanda Paul. The spirited participants and other dignitaries were enchanted with some sloka and song presentation by the students and teachers.
As this day coins the World Music Day as well, so the programme highlighted both the moments.
A blissful aura was created with the exhibition of different asanas, pranayamas and through meditation. This year’s theme “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam” was splendidly solemnized through an honest zeal by the family of India International School, Asansol. The programme ended with the blessings of the Director, Mr. A. K. Sharma and vote of thanks by the Vice Principal. The International Day of Yoga was celebrated with a grand success highlighting the message of One Earth, One Family and One Future.
