There is no salvation for India unless you strip yourself of this jewellery and hold it in trust for your countrymen”, said father of the Nation,Mah:atma Gandhi.
To salute the ceaseless efforts of Mahatma Gandhi and many other martyrs, India International School, Asansol and its entire team marked this 78″Independence Day with celebration and paid collective homage to all those patriots who sacrificed their lives to the cause.
The School was privileged to have Mr. A.K.Sharma, Director of the School, Smt. Radha Sharma, Vice-President, School Trust, Parent Representatives and other invited guests as the guests of honour.
Further floral tribute was offered to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi”, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, along with other martyrs with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra.
The tricolor flag was hoisted by the revered Director of India International School, Asansol ,Mr. A.K. Sharma accompanied by school Principal , Mrs. Sharmistha Chanda Paul along with the recital of the Jana Gana Mana .
The programme began with the welcome address by the Principal of IIS, Asansol , Mrs.
Sharmistha Chanda Paul, in which she welcomed all the dignitaries present there and briefed on the importance of the Day.
She also detailed the responsibilities which the school  students, (future generation) holds.
IIS Asansol  Director, Mr.  A.K.Sharma, who is also a National Awardee Teacher, reminded everybody  in his speech that we must maintain the tradition of our tolerance, love for peace, inculcate the feeling of Nationalism and take a pledge to defend our freedom with all our might.
Students of different classes began their programme with the March Past., Songs, Speeches, Colourful Dances, Yoga, Taekwondu items were presented which was well applauded.
The school thanked everyone for sparing their valuable time and concluded the programme with the National Anthem.
