The land of Sage Kapil Muni, founder of the Samkhya philosophy, Shri Kolayat (Magra region), has given many great personalities to the world. This holy land of Magra has contributed not only to India but also to the entire world in the fields of religion, spirituality, service, literature, art, and culture, producing luminous stars whose work has benefitted humanity with peace, harmony, service, spirituality, and art.

This sacred soil has been graced by the footsteps of great saints and seers such as Sage Kapil Muni, Jagat Rishi, Dattatreya, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Swami Ramsukhdas Ji Maharaj, and the embodiment of human service, the revered Swami Krishnanand Ji
Saraswati (the National Saint of Mauritius). As a poet rightly said:
“Her sujas jag haaliya, kaatankashtkaroor,
Mandiyarahsibhoomathe, waanrakhojjaroor”
(“The land forever shines with glory, removing great suffering, and will always remain blessed, awaiting seekers of truth.”)
From this very sacred land comes international painter Yogendra Purohit, born in Mang-Kotdi, MagraKolayat. His art has already left a powerful mark on the international stage, reaching Italy, Korea, England, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore. Truly, as the saying goes: “The promising sapling shows its strength in the tender leaf.”
During his visit to my residence “Shri Awad Kripa”, I had the pleasant opportunity to meet him. Speaking on the occasion, Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo, Assistant Director, Department of Information and Public Relations, Rajasthan Information Centre, Kolkata, said that artists like Yogendra Purohit are the priceless heritage of the nation, whose brush and pen continuously enrich the world of art.
Yogendra Purohit was felicitated with a garland, a shawl, and a book. On this occasion, an in-depth discussion was also held on the life and contributions of the revered Swami Krishnanand Ji Saraswati (the National Saint of Mauritius), another illustrious son of Magra.
