In a significant step towards making tourism more inclusive and accessible, the Enterprising Travel Agents Association (ETAA) and Foundation to Summit have joined hands through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Accessible and Barrier-Free Tourism.
The strategic partnership aims to create greater awareness within the tourism industry, encourage inclusive tourism practices and work towards ensuring that persons with disabilities can participate in travel and tourism with greater dignity, independence and equal opportunity.
The MoU signing ceremony was hosted at Hotel Park Prime, Kolkata, which extended its valuable support as the Venue Partner. ETAA expressed its sincere appreciation to the hotel management for supporting this important industry initiative. Taking this commitment forward, ETAA East, in association with Foundation to Summit, organised a British Heritage Walk on World Tourism Day, 27 September 2026, bringing together ETAA members and participants from the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) segment.
The initiative was undertaken with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Eastern Regional Office, Kolkata, and provided an opportunity for tourism professionals and participants with disabilities to experience Kolkata’s rich heritage together. More than just a heritage experience, the walk highlighted the importance of accessibility, inclusion and equal participation in tourism, reinforcing the shared vision of creating destinations that are welcoming to everyone.
The two initiatives mark another step towards ETAA’s vision of “Tourism for All” and a tourism ecosystem where barriers are removed, opportunities are shared and every traveller feels included.
