India Tourism, Sri Vijayapuram, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, successfully organised a one-day Emergency Response Training Programme on 06 December 2025 at Swaraj Dweep in collaboration with the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI).

The training aimed to enhance emergency response capability among frontline personnel involved in tourism, particularly in marine and adventure activities across the Andaman Islands.

The training was delivered by Dr. Freston Marc Sirur, Associate Professor, Emergency Medicine, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal.
He brought extensive expertise in emergency care, trauma management, and rescue procedures, making the session highly informative and practical.

A total of 50 participants attended the programme, representing key sectors involved in safety and visitor services:
(Police personnel,
Boat boys and boat operators,
Scuba diving instructors,
Parasailing and water sports operators,
Hotel and resort staff, and
Tourism field personnel)

Their active participation demonstrated a strong commitment to enhancing safety skills within Swaraj Dweep’s tourism ecosystem.
The Emergency Response Training Programme at Swaraj Dweep marked an important step toward strengthening safety and preparedness in the Andaman tourism sector.
