EVENT : INDIATOURISM KOLKATA TO OBSERVE WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY WITH MEGA BLOOD DONATION CAMP IN KOLKATA IN COLLABORATION WITH TAFI, HRAEI, TAAI, IATO,ADTOI,TAAB, ATSPB

KOLKATA,6 JUNE 2023:

IndiaTourism Kolkata, which is under the union ministry of tourism is going to celebrate the World Blood Donor Day on 14 June with Mega Blood Donation camp in collaboration with the stakeholders of the tourism sector of the state- TAFI, HRAEI, TAAI, IATO, ADTOI, TAAB, ATSPB.

The Mega blood donation camp will be held at the club of Apsara Apartment in Park Street from 12 noon to 5 PM to celebrate the World Blood Donor Day on 14 June.

A preparatory meeting was held today in Kolkata in which Dr. Sagnik Chowdhury, deputy director general and regional director ( East), ministry of Tourism, Mr. Sayak Nandi, assistant director of ministry of tourism, Kolkata, Mr. Anil Punjabi, Chairman ( East) of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), Mr. Manav Soni, Chairman ( east) of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Mr. Debjit Dutta, Chairman ( West Bengal) of Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) etc were present.

Mr. Anil Punjabi, Chairman ( East) of Travel Agents Federation of India and Director of Ar- Es Travels said that all stakeholders of the tourism sector of the state has united to make the event a grand success.

“ We have finalised the planning of the mega event, registrations and other related topics. More than 150 people from the tourism industry are expected to gather for the blood donation camp on World Blood Donor Day. We have tied up with Apollo Healthcare for the camp,” added Mr. Anil Punjabi.

Venue, beds, doctors, para meduical staffs, blood collection and storage facility, refreshments et hsve been discussed and finalised in today’s meeting.

Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav is approved under the Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav.

The slogan for this year’s World Blood Donor Day is , “ Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.” 14 June is observed as World Blood Donor Day as it is the birth anniversary of Dr. Karl Landsteiner, the Austrain biologist who had discovered the ABO Blood Group and is regarded as the founder of modern blood transfusion.
