EVENT : ‘RAMJHOL 1.0 , RAJASTHAN – YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW, THREE DAY CULTURAL FESTIVAL FROM 18 TH AUGUST AT KOLKATA CENTRE FOR CREATIVITY

KOLKATA, 25 JULY 2023:

The culture of Rajasthan is unique in itself. It is also an art to take it to the masses and to discover its culture where there is no Rajasthani, and on the other hand, to bring together art, language and literature, theatre, film, craft, design, architecture and history on a single platform and bring them together in front of the migrant Rajasthanis. With this objective, ‘Ramjhol’ Rajasthan-Kal-Aaj Aur Kal program will be held from 18th August at Kolkata Center for Creativity [KCC].

An exploration of the culture of Rajasthan. Held over a week, the program will touch upon all aspects of creativity and endeavour– art, language and literature, theatre, film, craft, design, architecture and history; culminating in three days of performances, workshops, talks, shows and exhibitions, all with an eye on the continued relevance and of Kolkata’s deep ties with Rajasthan.

Smt.  Pramila Sah , associated with KCC and cultural event director at Anamika Kala Sangam, gave this information on Tuesday in the presence of Hinglaj Dan  Ratnoo, assistant director of Rajasthan Information Center Kolkata.

Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo said that in view of the three-day historical program, on August 18, the inauguration of art exhibition, Millets of Mewar, presentation of Rajwadi Mand by Pandit Pukhraj Sharma will be launched at  stage in Kolkata and  ‘Bolyan Ri Kranti’ program will be held. Tracing 300 years of rajasthani poetry, mapping cultures by Madan Meena etc will be on day one.

On the second day of the program on August 19, Samaj Ar Sanstha: The Future of the Marwari Social Organization, Jajam: The People’s Textile, A Poetry Mehfil: Prem-Birah and Rebellion at 4 pm, Prof. Shekhawati Ki Haveli. Presentation by Saumya Agarwal, Desi Ghodi, Bilayati Chaal: A Fashion Show, Barhamasa – The Twelve Months will be the events.

On the third day, on August 20, there will be programs like Haveli Ro Hawalo: The Haveli Dialogue, Rajasthani Rai Bina, Kyron Rajasthan, Des, Pardes Ar Vides, Baatposi, Ghoomar, Binjaro etc. Pramila also told that there will be many cultural programs everyday including The Gallery Store by Rangsutra, Bikaner, Millets of Mewar (Udaipur), Pothikhano, Workshops, Phad Paintings, Sanjhi Art, Ghoomar, Mand.

Rajasthan Foundation, Rajasthan Information Center, Kolkata, Cultural Parliament, Sanskriti Saurabh, Rajasthani Pracharini Sabha, NIFT, ILEED, Marudhara, Millets of Mewar, Rangsutra and stage partners will be there in the programme.
