The Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO) organised the “ABTO Meet”, a Face to Face event for its members and the Buddhist Tour Operators at the Ananda Metro Banquet, Tangra, Kolkata on 11th July 2025.
Mr. Utpal Majumdar, Assistant Director, West Bengal Tourism was the Chief Guest. He spoke about the importance of Buddhist Tourism.
Mr. Pranav Prakash, Deputy Director General & Regional Director (East), India Tourism Office Kolkata, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India was invited as the Guest of Honour. He apprised the attendees about the initiatives being taken to develop tourism and how the tour operators may augment sustainable flows of Buddhist tourists to India.
Mr. Amitava Sarkar, Founder & CEO, Orbitz Holidays as the Guest of Honour also spoke about the growing importance of Buddhist Tourism in India.
Dr. Kaulesh Kumar, Secretary Generalof ABTO had successfully conducted the event and thanked the top officials of India Tourism in Kolkata for their continuous support for the welfare of the organisation which specialises on Buddhist Tourism in the country.
Several state heads of ABTO , including the state head of West Bengal chapter, Mr. Bidyut Mitra was present on this occasion in the meeting in which Mr. Alok Shivaji has been selected as the financial advisor of ABTO till 9 December 2025,  eminent advocate Miss. Milli Babu daughter of it’s member Shyamashree Bhattacharya, founder of Lysander Holidays Kolkata has been appointed as the Legal Advisor of ABTO till 9 December 2025, Mr. Ranajit Saha, Head of sales and Business of Hotel Sonar Bangla has been selected as the head of Hospitality section of ABTO till 9 December 2025.
ABTO ix expanding very fast throughout the country and everyday its members are increasing , besides it is also participating in all major roadshows and trade and tourism fairs in the major cities of India.
