EVENT: SAWAN SINJARA CELEBRATED WITH FERVOUR BY PARIK SABHA MAHILA SAMITI AT BURRABAZAR IN KOLKATA RECENTLY

The Parik Sabha Mahila Samiti vibrantly celebrated the Sawan Sinjara Festival with immense fervour at the Parik Bhavan in Burrabazar, Kolkata recently . The cultural event witnessed enthusiastic participation from community women, who showcased their skills in various creative competitions and set up attractive food and beverage stalls. The highlight of the festival was the competitive segment.

In the Sola Shringar competition, Puja Parik secured the first position, followed by Jyoti Parik in second, and Priyanka Parik in third. The dance competition saw Puja Parik clinch the top spot, with Ankita Parik finishing second, while Monika Parik and Priyanka Parik jointly shared the third prize. In the Aarti Ki Thali Sajao competition, Monika Parik emerged victorious, while Palak Parik and Vandana Parik jointly bagged the second position.

The performances and creations were evaluated by a distinguished judging panel comprising prominent social workers Anju Sethia, Bela Mohata Maheshwari, and Roma Das, who highly praised the talent on display.

Addressing the gathering, Anju Sethiya, founder of the Samajsevika Women Wing, West Bengal, urged women to recognize their innate strength. “Women must never consider themselves inferior. When women stand united as a force, their talent will undoubtedly receive the recognition it deserves in every field,” Sethiya stated.

Committee President Sharada Parik (Nayabas) highlighted the vision behind the celebration, stating that the primary objective of the event was to uncover and nurture the hidden talents of women in the community. The programme was guided by Prem Joshi and Suman Purohit.

The event was seamlessly managed with Prem Joshi conducting the competitions, Mahila Samiti Mantri Ruchi Tiwari presenting the brief of the organization’s ongoing welfare initiatives, and Mukta Joshi hosting the evening. Social workers Sangeeta Nangalia and Kavita Sharma graced the occasion as special guests.

The successful execution of the festival was supported by the active coordination of core committee members, including Krishna Parik, Lakshmi Parik, Manju Joshi, Parmeshwari Ji Parik, Rajshri Parik, Saroj Parik, Jyoti Parik, Deepti Parik, Sunita Parik, and Anuradha Tiwari.
