The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) has organised a roadshow in Taj Bengal Hotel in City of Joy on 20 th September. Sharjah is also called the ‘ capital of Arab Culture’ by UNESCO.
The event will begin at 7 Pm today at Crystal – 2 Part and will have B2B Networking with stakeholders, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority presentation, question and answer sessions and raffle draws, followed by networking dinner.

Both, The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) Eastern India and the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), eastern India along with Skal International ( Kolkata) has welcomed the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) for its roadshow in Kolkata on Wednesday evening.
Sharjah is known as the cricket capital of UAE and Kolkata is known as the cultural capital of India. There has been very good air connectivity between these two cities with airlines opearting like Etihad, Emirates, Air Arabia, Fly Dubai and even indian airlines operators.
India is a very key resource market for Sharjah Tourism and the city welcomes alll types of international tourists.
With the tourism sector showing continued growth, more job prospects are emerging in the industry, resulting in a positive impact on the GDP. Sharjah has reaffirmed its range of sustainability initiatives in a bid to bolster the eco-tourism sector, and it has been refining its offerings for years to boost sustainability across a wide range of industries.

According to the latest facts about international hotel occupancy in Sharjah, Russian tourists came in first place for the number of guests in Sharjah hotels, amounting to nearly 165,000 hotel guests, followed by India; approximately more than 156,000 hotel guests, and Oman with nearly 111,000 hotel guests. Other countries such as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Jordan also contributed to the total number of guests that stayed in Sharjah in 2022. In total, Sharjah welcomed approximately more than 1.4 million hotel guests in 2022, with a 66% occupancy rate in hotel rooms.
It has over a 3000 year old rich history and boosts over 50% of the country’s total museums.
