The chairman of Rupa and Company, Prahlad Roy Agarwal said that the biggest motto for the life should be to serve the others in his speech after inaugurating the second edition of Suregi Rajasthan organised jointly by the Sikar Nagarik Parishad and Sikar District Welfare Trust at Divinity Pavilion , Golaghta, Sreebhumi Kolkata.
The editor of Sanmarg and MLA of Jorasanko, Vivek Gupta has urged the today’s parents to teach their kids a Rajasthani word and language every day so that despite the challenges from learning in English medium schools the Rajastrhani world famous art and culture remains aline for the posterity for the next 100 years to come.
Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo, assistant director of information and culture of rajasthan in Kolkata played the role of the judge and also compered the event.
“ It was very difficult to choose the winners as the quality and standard of the contest was so high. Imagine the age of one of the particiapnats was 73 years,” added Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo.
Industrialist Bhagabati Prasad Jalan, Smt. Manisha Jogani, owner Mandakini Sarees, Mr. Ratan Shah, Smt. Abha Mittal, Smt. Maruti Mohta, Mr. Banshidhar Sharma, Smt. Shilpi Choudhury, Smt. Kabita Sharma, etc were the judges and were also felicitated during the occasion.
Pandit Pukhraj Sharma, famous singer of Rajasthan and Sukhdev Mangnewar and associates with their lokk geet enthralled the audiences.
Prizes were given : Bhoomal award, Chand Bardai Award, Special Award Rajasthan Ki Shaan. The even was compered by Sunita Lohia, Radha Somani, Rashmi Sharaf. President Emiritus, Ghyamshyam Prasad Shomsariya, President Suresh Kumar Jalan, secretary Rabi Shankar Sikariya were also present.
Several hundreds of Rajasthanis who hail from the Sikar district took part in the cultrural carnival which was not only colourful and vibrant with Rajasthani folk dances, music and shayeris but also with the presence of the luminaries of the Rajasthani art and culture, business and industry.
The stage was set amidst a very decorative and colourfull backdrop as the dancers performed tirelessly in front of the audience who were captivated by their performaces for about three hours.
The event closed with a gala dinner which featured the world famous Rajasthani cuisines like Dal Bati churma, chiilka etc.
