EVENT: THIS RAKSHA BANDHAN, CELEBRATING THE JOY OF BEING TOGETHER

TTT NEWS NETWORK

KOLKATA | 26 AUGUST 2026

Raksha Bandhan is a celebration of love, care and the quiet promise of standing by one another. At its heart, it is also a reminder that the joy of a festival is truly meaningful when it is shared and that every child deserves to feel cared for, remembered and included in those moments of happiness.

This Raksha Bandhan , 17 children from Rupayan NGO will come together for a special afternoon at Garden Cafe, Lee Road, at 1 pm on August 27 , in a celebration centred around warmth, togetherness and the simple joys of childhood.

The afternoon will be filled with good food, laughter and happy moments around the table. The children will enjoy a special festive lunch, followed by a sweet treat to make the celebration a little more joyful and memorable

But the heart of the celebration goes beyond the meal. It is about creating an afternoon where the children can laugh, talk, enjoy themselves and simply feel celebrated. Sometimes, it is these seemingly little moments — sitting together around a table, sharing a meal, laughing over something simple — that become the memories we carry with us.

“Raksha Bandhan reminds us that the most beautiful bonds are built through love, care and the willingness to make someone feel that they matter. This year, we wanted to celebrate that spirit by bringing these children together for an afternoon of happiness and togetherness. We hope that the smiles, laughter and warmth of this day stay with them long after the celebration is over” – Sandip Nowlakha, Founder, Garden Cafe.
