KOLKATA – COOCH BEHAR FLIGHT SERVICES DEFERRED FOR A WEEK, LIKELY TO START FROM 21 FEBRUARY

KOLKATA, 11 FEBRUARY 2023:

The proposed Kolkata to Cooch Behar flight services which was supposed to start from 15 February has been deferred for another week.

Cooch Behar Airport sources said that the final infrastructural works are going on full swing and if every thing goes according to the plan then the trail run will take place on either 19 or 20 February.

The fare from Kolkata to Cooch Behar will be Rs.999 and it will run under the Ude Desh Ki Aam Nagarik (UDAN) Scheme.

 Mr. Arun Kumar Singh, CEO of IndiaOne Air had  said earlier  that the daily flights will take off around 12.30 PM every day and reach at around 12.15 PM.

 It will take two hours to reach Kolkata and the flight will have 9 seats. The flight will also connect Jamshedpur and Bhuvaneswar. It will use the C208B aircraft.

Cooch Behar is a heritage tourism site of West Bengal and attracts large number of tourists throughout the year. The proposed low cost flight under the Udan Scheme is likely to further boost the tourism prospects of this region.

At present commercial flight operations takes place from three airports in West Bengal- Bagdogra, Andal and Dum Dum.
