(Detailed training provided to Bihar Tourism Information Centre officers under the “Tourist Data Survey Training Program” organized by the Ministry of Tourism)

Under the “Tourist Data Survey Training Program” organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, all Tourism Information Officers of Bihar Tourism were provided detailed training related to collection, recording, and data management of tourist statistics. The training program was organized at the Tourism Directorate auditorium under the chairmanship of Special Secretary-cum-Director of Tourism Shri Udayan Mishra.

Shri Udayan Mishra said that accurate data will not only help in formulating tourism development strategies, but will also play an important role in better management of local resources, planning, and implementation of schemes. He stated that the main objective of today’s training is to ensure accuracy in tourism data and to further strengthen future tourism plans and policies through the use of such data.

During the program, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Ms. Soumya Mishra, and Assistant Director Shri Sunil Deve addressed the participants and provided important guidelines on modern methods of data collection, digital recording systems, data authenticity, and confidentiality standards. They instructed participants to pay special attention to challenges in field-level data collection, methods to ensure error-free entries, and standardization of reporting formats.

On this occasion, Joint Director of the department Shri Rajesh Roshan said that the Tourism Department believes the skills and standardized data collection system gained through this training will play a decisive role in the sustainable and organized development of tourism in Bihar. The department is soon planning to conduct extensive surveys at major tourist destinations across the state under the guidance of trained officers, on the basis of which future promotion, infrastructure development, and policy formulation will be carried out.

Deputy Secretary Neha Kumari, Assistant Director Keshari Kumar, related officers, and in-charges of Tourism Information Offices were also present at the training program.
