The caravan bus service launched by the Bihar Tourism Department is becoming extremely popular among tourists. This innovative initiative by the department has added a new dimension to tourism by providing visitors with a comfortable, safe, and convenient travel option. Through the caravan facility operated by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation, residents of Bihar are travelling not only within the state but across the country. Tourists visiting Bihar are also making use of this facility to explore the state. The continuous booking of caravan buses has resulted in a significant increase in revenue. Data available with the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation clearly shows that public interest in this service is steadily increasing, and bookings continue to grow consistently.
According to details provided by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation, New Caravan BR01PS-7758 operated several trips on different dates, generating total revenue of ₹7,03,285. These bookings and journeys covered the period from 24 January 2026 to 11 July 2026. Revenue earned from individual trips ranged from ₹20,783 to ₹1,25,755.
Similarly, New Caravan BR01PS-7759 also recorded multiple bookings, generating total revenue of ₹4,19,494. Trips undertaken between 26 March 2026 and 16 June 2026 generated revenue ranging from ₹20,223 to ₹1,43,658.
Thus, the combined revenue earned from both vehicles stands at ₹11,22,779, reflecting the growing demand and popularity of this service.
Equipped with comfortable recliner seats, TV-enabled sleeper berths, a kitchen, bathroom, and toilet facilities, the caravan bus service has become more than just a travel facility—it has emerged as an effective medium for strengthening tourism in Bihar. This is not only accelerating tourism development in the state but is also continuously increasing government revenue. Keeping in view the growing demand for modern tourism services, the Bihar Tourism Department believes that the caravan bus service will play an even more important role in the future. The department is continuously working towards expanding the service, improving its management, and further enriching the experience of tourists.

Keeping the convenience of tourists in mind, the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited has fixed the transportation rate structure for caravan bookings.

For outstation bookings, the caravan rental charge is ₹75 per kilometre, applicable for a minimum booking of 250 kilometres.
For outstation bookings, the overnight halt charge has been fixed at ₹500 per night.
For local bookings, the tariff has been fixed at ₹11,000 for up to 12 hours or 75 kilometres.
The Corporation has also clarified that GST will be applicable, while toll tax and parking charges will be payable separately. Information regarding the applicable rates is provided to passengers before booking to ensure transparency and enable tourists to plan their trips according to their requirements.
