Thailand’s Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya will be on a visit to Rajasthan from 6 to 10 February. Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas on Wednesday reviewed the preparations for her visit at the State Secretariat with Royal Thai Embassy Ambassador Ms. Chavanart Thangsumphant, along with representatives from the Thai Embassy and the Ministry of External Affairs.

 

The Chief Secretary said that Rajasthan has a unique global identity for its tradition of Atithi Devo Bhava (Guests are treated as God). In such a situation, the opportunity to host Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya is a matter of pride for the state. He added that the Princess’s visit would further strengthen strategic, cultural, and economic ties between India and Thailand.

The Chief Secretary carried out a detailed review of all aspects related to police preparedness, security arrangements, traffic management, and protocol during the Princess’s visit.

During her stay, Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya will tour Jaipur and Jodhpur. In Jaipur, she will visit major historical and cultural sites including Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Tripolia Bazaar, and others. Thereafter, in Jodhpur, visits are proposed to Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jaswant Thada, and other prominent tourist destinations. She will also be introduced to Rajasthan’s rich handicrafts, craftsmanship, culture, heritage, and traditional hospitality.

Royal Thai Embassy Ambassador Ms. Chavanart Thangsumpan said that the Princess chose Rajasthan for this visit after being impressed by the state’s rich cultural heritage. The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Chief Secretary for all the arrangements being made by the state government.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Tourism, Art, Literature, Culture and Archaeology) Shri Praveen Gupta; Principal Secretary (General Administration Department) Shri Naveen Jain; Director General of Police (Law and Order) Shri Sanjay Kumar Agrawal; Jaipur Divisional Commissioner Ms. Poonam; Tourism Commissioner Ms. Rukmani Riar; and Jaipur District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni, along with representatives from the Thai Embassy.

Also connected to the meeting via video conference were Director General of Police Shri Rajeev Kumar Sharma; Jodhpur Divisional Commissioner Dr. Pratibha Singh; Jodhpur Collector Shri Gaurav Goyal; and Jodhpur Police Commissioner Shri Om Prakash.

The Thai delegation included Royal Thai Navy Captain Nattapong Phannarai; Deputy Chief of Mission Shri Kiran Moongtin; Political and Economic Assistant Ms. Anjali Singh; First Secretary Shri Phanuwit Wejsamphan; CDP Thoranin Gajseni; Protocol Assistant Shri Denny Joseph; from Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Shri Chainin Sriviset; and the Consul General in Kolkata, Shri Jirasak Weraapachai.
