Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has successfully hosted an exclusive networking evening on 26th April 2025, at JW Marriott Hotel Juhu, Mumbai, bringing together the esteemed travel trade fraternity, Indian media and the travel influencers. The event aimed to strengthen partnerships and enhance awareness about Jamaica as a premier travel destination among Indian travellers.
Guests enjoyed an immersive experience into Jamaica’s vibrant culture, learning about its world-famous hospitality, scenic landscapes, and adventure offerings. The evening was also graced by the virtual presence of Ms. Afiya Henry Edwards, Senior Business Development Officer, Jamaica Tourist Board, engaged the Indian audiences with a detailed virtual presentation on destination Jamaica. She shared valuable insights into the island’s diverse attractions, ease of travel, and unique experiences.
During the event, Ms. Afiya Henry Edwards, Senior Business Development Officer, Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB), made an exciting announcement about Jamaica’s online training programs designed for travel agents. She mentioned that this program offers in-depth knowledge about the destination, equipping agents with the necessary expertise to promote Jamaica effectively to Indian travelers. By participating in the training, agents can enhance their skills, stay updated on the latest travel offerings, and gain exclusive access to resources that will help them boost sales. Jamaica is 4441 square miles in size and the highest point is the Blue Mountain Peak (7402 feet) , with modern infrastructure and is an all year round destination for international tourists. There are accommodations for all types of tourists like Villa, Resorts, Boutique hotels, apartments high and luxury etc. Birds and over 30 exotic waterfalls can be visited with guided tours available. Jamaica is also a Golfers paradise with ten top golf courses available.
Music of Bob Marley, the Jamaican singer, songwriter and guitarist is world famous, so are sportspersons like athlete Usian Bolt, cricketers Courtney Walsh, Michael Holding, Chris Gayle with their blistering pace.
“ I am sure if you visit here you will have an unforgettable experience and you will be rocking awesome when you visit Destination Jamaica. We have five cruise points and three international airports. Tourists from India can visit Jamaica either through UK or USA routes , should possess the transit VISA and here they will get a Visa on Arrival,”she said.
The event also featured interactive sessions, networking opportunities, and an authentic taste of Jamaican hospitality, reinforcing the destination’s appeal in the Indian market.
Dr. Banani Saikia, Deputy Director Sales And Marketing of TRAC Representations ( India) Private Limited, Ms. Harshima Bakshi, Manager, Public Relations, Rajni Singh, Assistant Manager, Public Relations of TRAC Representations ( India) Private Limited, New Delhi, the authorized India Representations of Jamaica Tourist Board were also present in the networking event.
Ms. Harsimha Bakshi briefed the audience with a quick glimpse on the introduction of Jamaica Tourist Board and the host of attractions of the carribean destination and said that Jamaica is still emerging as a destination in the Indian Travel landscape; it’s already creating waves for all the right reasons.

Ms. Harshima Baksi further added that the latest global campaign ‘the contrast campaign’, captures this beautifully. “The destination’s rich diversity and vibrant energy is something we celebrate a lot in India. We are also thrilled to share that 2024 was a record breaking year for Jamaican Tourism generating $ 4.3 billion for the economy, with such tremendous momentum Jamaica continues to strengthen its position as the Caribbean’s leading travel destination,”she said.
An audio visual presentation was shown to the audience with captivating music and breathtaking pictures and detailed information about the destination from various angles of tourism.
The star attraction of the evening was the Quiz Contest on Jamaica , where the lucky winners were handed prizes, followed by a gala dinner at the splendid J.W Marriott Hotel in Juhu, Mumbai.
