Skål International India is proud to announce an extraordinary chapter of its  journey. Recently concluded in Cusco, Peru from Sept 25 – 30, the Skål International World Congress  2025 showcased India shining bright on the global stage. With leadership, legacy, and sustainability at its  core, Skål International India demonstrated its vision to serve the industry, promote business among  friends, and lead by example. These triumphs mark a turning point in India’s contribution to Skål  International’s global mission of advancing responsible tourism.

MOHAN NSN: FROM INDIA TO THE WORLD STAGE

In a historic moment, Mohan NSN, Region 10 (India) Director and Deputy Vice President of Skål  International, was elected as Vice President 2026 & President Elect 2027 — the first Indian to ascend to  the organization’s highest position.

“This honor is not just mine — it belongs to every Skålleague in India who believes in friendship, leadership,  and service. Together, we will build bridges across nations and prove that tourism, when rooted in  sustainability and unity, can transform the world.” said Mohan NSN, Vice President 2026 &President  Elect 2027, Skål International.

While congratulating Mohan, Sanjeev Mehra, President, Skål International India stated, “Mohan’s  victory is a defining moment for Skål International India. His leadership reflects our collective aspiration — to position India as a beacon of Skål’s core ethos, towards building a stronger global movement.”

LATE SYED HAFIZUR RAHMAN: HONORING A LEGEND

In a deeply emotional highlight, Late Syed Hafizur Rahman from Skål International Kolkata was  posthumously recognized as Membre d’Honneur 2025, one of the highest honors within Skål  International.

“This recognition immortalizes the legacy of a true visionary. His contributions to Skål, Kolkata, and Indian  tourism will continue to inspire generations”, commented Sanjeev Mehra, President, SkålInternational  India.

Amin Asghar, President, Skål International Kolkata added, “This honor is a proud moment for Skål  Kolkata, for we carry forward the light of a legend. His vision and passion for Skål will forever guide our path  as we strengthen our club and its role in the global fraternity.”

THE ASIAN FOOTPRINTS WINS SUSTAINABLE TOURISM AWARDS 2025

Skål India’s commitment to sustainability and innovation shone brightly at the SkålInternational  Sustainable Tourism Awards 2025. The Asian Footprints (Whitehat Media) founded by senior journalist  June Mukherjee was declared the Winner in the inaugural Communications category of the award for its  campaign “Slow is the New Speed.” The award was given in collaboration with UN Tourism (UNWTO),

Biosphere, Sustainable Travel International, and Responsible Tourism Institute. ITC Maurya New  Delhi also received the Sustainable Tourism Awards in Accommodation, Food & Hospitality Services category.

“This award is a testament to the power of storytelling in shaping sustainable futures. ‘Slow is the New  Speed’ is not just a campaign — it is a movement that redefines the way we travel, with care, justice,  respect, and responsibility”, said Priyam Biswas, Publisher & Creative Director, The Asian Footprints and Founder Director, Whitehat Media (India).

Sanjeev Mehra, President, Skål International India remarked, “This recognition reinforces SkålIndia’s  pioneering spirit in sustainable communication and June’s ability to inspire global change as a responsible  industry influencer.”
