On the instructions of the Tourism Department, Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited has released special Pind Daan tourism packages for the convenience of devotees coming to Gayaji and Bihar from India and abroad on the occasion of Pitru Paksha Mela-2026. These packages will be effective from 25 September 2026 to 10 October 2026. Through these packages, devotees will be provided with integrated Pind Daan rituals, darshan of religious places, transportation, accommodation, food, Panda-priest services and necessary worship materials. Devotees can choose from one-day, one-night, and two-day packages based on their convenience, travel duration, and budget. *Package A: Patna–Punpun Ghat–Gayaji–Patna*
This is a one-day Pind Daan package. It includes pickup and drop off of devotees from Patna, transportation within 10 kilometers of Patna city, Patna Railway Station, or Patna Airport. A sedan or hatchback car will be provided for devotees. This package includes Pind Daan at Punpun Ghat, Pind Daan fees, and puja materials, and Pind Daan puja at the Phalgu River, Vishnupad Temple, and Akshayavat tree in Gayaji. The package will include accommodation in budget AC to three-star hotels and a vegetarian lunch. Package rates range from ₹14,550 to ₹30,650, depending on hotel-grade accommodation and a capacity of one to four passengers.
*Package B: Patna–Punpun Ghat–Gayaji–Nalanda–Rajgir–Patna*
This is a one-night, two-day Pind Daan package. It includes pickup and drop from Patna, Pind Daan-related services at Punpun Ghat and Gayaji, puja materials, accommodation, and vegetarian breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This package will also include a tour of the Vishwa Shanti Stupa in Rajgir and the ancient ruins of Nalanda. Entry tickets to monuments or tourist sites are not included. Package rates range from ₹18,850 to ₹40,700, depending on hotel-grade accommodation and a capacity of one to four passengers.
*Package C: Gayaji One-Day Pind Daan Package*
This is a one-day package for devotees visiting Gayaji. Pickup and drop-off facilities will be provided from Gayaji Railway Station, Gayaji Airport, or any place of worship within a 15-kilometer radius. A sedan or hatchback car will be available for transportation. The package includes tarpan (offering) at the Phalgu River, pind daan (offering) at the Vishnupad Temple, and pind daan (offering) at the Akshayavat tree. This package includes the services of a priest, pind daan (offering) fee, puja materials, accommodation, and a vegetarian lunch. Rates for this package range from ₹11,250 to ₹25,250, depending on hotel-class accommodation and capacity for one to four passengers.
*Package D: Gayaji One-Night-Two-Day Pind Daan Package*
This package is specially designed for devotees performing the Pind Daan ritual late at night, early in the morning, or early in the evening. It includes pickup and drop-off from Gayaji Railway Station, Gayaji Airport, or any place of worship, a sedan or hatchback car, accommodation, and vegetarian lunch and dinner. This package will include offerings of tarpan (offering) on ​​the Phalgu River, performing Pind Daan (worship) at the Vishnupad Temple, and performing Pind Daan (worship) at the Akshayavat tree. Package rates range from ₹16,000 to ₹39,500, depending on the hotel category and occupancy of one to four passengers.
*Package E: Gayaji–Rajgir–Nalanda One Night, Two Day Package*
This is a one-night, two-day Gayaji Pind Daan and tourism package. It includes pickup and drop-off from Gayaji Railway Station, Airport, or a place of worship within a 15-kilometer radius, transportation, Pind Daan-related services, puja materials, and accommodation. Devotees will be provided with vegetarian breakfast, lunch, an additional lunch, and dinner. The package also includes a tour of the Rajgir Vishwa Shanti Stupa and the ancient ruins of Nalanda. Entry tickets to monuments and tourist sites are not included. Package rates range from ₹16,550 to ₹32,850, depending on the hotel category and occupancy of one to four passengers.
*Online e-Pind Daan facility also available*
For devotees who cannot come to Gaya in person, the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation has also provided an online e-Pind Daan package. Its total rate is ₹23,000, including GST. The e-Pind Daan package includes Pind Daan at Vishnupad Temple, Pind Daan at Akshayavat, Pind Daan or Tarpan at Phalgu River, services of a Pandit/Priest, worship materials and Dakshina, video recording of the entire ritual and providing a pen drive with the video recording. The priest will perform the Pind Daan or Tarpan as per the prescribed rituals at all three major sites. The entire video recording of the ritual, including chanting of mantras, donations, Dakshina and worship materials, will be made available through a pen drive.
