Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the government’s endeavour is to make air travel not just a means of transport, but also an enjoyable travel experience. Madhya Pradesh will provide its citizens and tourists with modern facilities along with the warmth of its culture. He said that we are not only connecting distances in the state, but also hearts and experiences. The helicopter service will establish new dimensions in the field of tourism. This facility will not only save time for tourists and travelers but will also provide them with a wonderful blend of faith, spirituality, tourism, and experience in a single journey.

Its objective is also to connect the major tourist destinations of the state by air, thus eliminating distances and saving time. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has become the first and only state in the entire country to start air ambulance and helicopter tourism services (intra-state air services). Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing a special function organized at the Raja Bhoj International Airport premises on Saturday. On the 70th Foundation Day of Madhya Pradesh, the Chief Minister inaugurated several important and innovative services in the state’s tourism and aviation sector, including the upgradation works at Raja Bhoj Airport. These services include state-of-the-art facilities such as ‘PM Shri Air Tourism Helicopter Service’, ‘Digi Yatra’, ‘Flybrary’, ‘Kids Play Zone’, and ‘CAT-I to CAT-II ILS system’.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav officially launched the PM Shri Tourism Helicopters service in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday at Raja Bhoj International Airport. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the program by lighting a lamp and also formally initiated the helicopter tourism service by presenting boarding passes to the Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare (Independent Charge), Smt. Krishna Gaur, and the Minister of State for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge), Shri Dharmendra Singh Lodhi.
Tourism is a strong pillar of the state’s economy.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of the state on its 70th Foundation Day. He said that this day is not merely a celebration, but a symbol of the state’s journey of development, social unity, and cultural pride. The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has overcome many challenges in this long journey of 70 years. Now, it is not only our goal but also our firm resolve to make Madhya Pradesh a self-reliant, technologically advanced, and leading state in the field of tourism. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that tourism is a sector that connects the economy, culture, and society – all three. He said that tourism is the only sector in the economy of our country and state that provides the joy of exploring new locations, different cultures, and historical sites in its own way, along with employment and identity. Madhya Pradesh has a unique confluence of heritage, natural beauty, forest wealth, and religious tourism. Our effort is to ensure direct access to these sites and to make the facilities here world-class. He said that the PM Shri Tourism Helicopter Service is an innovative initiative in this regard, which will provide all domestic and international tourists with direct, safe, and quick access to the major tourist destinations of the state.

Helicopter Service to Give New Direction to Tourism:
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that in the initial phase of the PM Shri Tourism Helicopter Service, helicopter services will be operated in three major tourism sectors. In the primary phase, helicopter flights will be operated to major destinations such as Ujjain and Omkareshwar from Indore, Madhai and Pachmarhi from Bhopal, and Bandhavgarh and Kanha from Jabalpur. He said that this service will provide tourists with the convenience of visiting more tourist destinations in less time. Additionally, this service will also promote employment generation, the home-stay business, and the marketing of local products in the rural and semi-urban areas of the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this initiative will also provide new opportunities for helicopter charter companies, tourism agencies, guide service providers, and women’s self-help groups in the state.
PM Shri Heli Service Launched in Three Sectors:
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that on the occasion of the 70th foundation day of Madhya Pradesh, the state has received the unique gift of the PM Shri Helicopter Service. This will provide tourists with all kinds of facilities as part of a package. In the initial phase, the PM Shri Heli Service is being launched in 3 sectors of the state. Tourists will get helicopter facilities on the Bhopal to Madhai-Pachmarhi, Indore to Ujjain-Omkareshwar, and Jabalpur to Kanha-Bandhavgarh sectors. Currently, it takes 5.5 hours to travel from Bhopal to Pachmarhi by road, but with the new PM Shri Heli Service, tourists will be able to reach Pachmarhi in just 45 to 50 minutes. The PM Shri Tourism Heli Service will connect Jabalpur to Kanha and Bandhavgarh. The helicopter service between Indore and Ujjain and Omkareshwar will allow tourists to visit both Jyotirlingas in a single day. The state’s 9th airport will be developed in the city of Baba Mahakal (Ujjain).

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that for the first time, intra-state aviation services have been launched in Madhya Pradesh. A direct Indigo flight service will be available between Rewa and Indore from November 20th. The Rewa to Delhi air service is also a wonderful gift for eastern Madhya Pradesh. After our government came to power, three new airports were started in the state: Rewa, Satna, and Datia. In this changing era, Rewa has become a rapidly developing city.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Union Aviation Minister Mr. K. Rammohan Naidu says that Madhya Pradesh has immense potential in the aviation sector. PM Shri Ambulances are being operated in Madhya Pradesh first in the country. Through air ambulances, better treatment is being provided to the poor and needy. Citizens are availing the benefit of free air ambulance service through the Ayushman Card. Paid services are also being provided to non-Ayushman cardholders. Smaller cities like Satna have also been connected by air service. Small planes are being operated from here. The airport design is prepared based on the structure of the local city.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that all the airports in Madhya Pradesh are excellent examples of architecture. He expressed hope that the structure of the airport being built in Ujjain would reflect the grandeur of Baba Mahakal. During Prime Minister Modi’s 11-year tenure, the number of airports in the country has doubled.
India is rapidly developing in the aviation sector. An international-level airport is being built in Jewar, near Delhi. In Shajapur, blackbucks were captured with the help of helicopters and released into the Gandhi Sagar, Kanha, and Kuno sanctuaries.
A Big Step Towards a Self-Reliant Madhya Pradesh Through Tourism
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this expansion of tourism services is not just the beginning of new facilities, but a strong step towards building a ‘self-reliant Madhya Pradesh’. He said that every new service and facility strengthens employment, skill development, and the local economy. The Chief Minister stated that our government aims to double the number of tourists by 2030 and increase the size of the tourism-based economy to Rs. 50,000 crore. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the new heli-tourism services will provide large-scale employment opportunities to local youth as well as women. He informed that through the Devi Ahilya Women Empowerment Mission, women are being made self-reliant by providing them training in the tourism, hospitality, and handicraft sectors.
Under the guidance and leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Madhya Pradesh is reaching new heights.
Minister of State for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge) Shri Dharmendra Singh Lodhi said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, our tourism department is setting new benchmarks. After the successful operation of the PM Shri Ambulance service, there were some places left where the PM Shri Tourism Heli Service is being launched today. Today, on the occasion of the 70th Foundation Day of Madhya Pradesh, the Vision Document of Developed Madhya Pradesh @2047 was launched. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has many new ideas to take the state forward. Minister of State Shri Lodhi said that under the guidance and leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Madhya Pradesh is touching new heights every day.
Following this efficient leadership, Madhya Pradesh Tourism is also creating new dimensions. Now tourists will be able to travel from Ujjain, the city of Baba Mahakal, to Pachmarhi nestled in the lap of the Satpura range and the forest areas of Kanha-Bandhavgarh in just a few hours. This initiative is an innovative step towards a “self-reliant and connected Madhya Pradesh”.
Additional Chief Secretary Tourism and Culture, Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla, said that the PM Shri Tourism Air Service was launched about a year ago with the aim of making air travel accessible to tourists in the state. So far, more than 10,000 tourists have traveled using this service. Madhya Pradesh is a large state geographically.
