Just before the final countdown of the Durga Puja, purchasing tickets in Metro turned simpler and easier as Metro Railway launched two passenger-friendly initiatives to provide fast ticket purchasing options for the commuters today.
Shri Prem Sagar Gupta, General Manager, Metro Railway, Kolkata inaugurated these two passenger-friendly ticketing options at Park Street Metro station today in presence of senior officers of Metro Railway.
Commuters would henceforth be able to purchase Metro tickets smoothly by scanning QR image stickers available at Metro stations without downloading any app. Initially this facility has been made available at Esplanade, Dumdum, Dakshineswar, Rabindra Sarobar, Mahanayak Uttam Kumar, Kalighat, Howrah, Sealdah, Sovabazar-Sutanuti, Salt Lake Sector V and Dumdum Cantonment stations. This facility will soon be available at other Metro stations of all corridors.
Apart from this, Metro commuters would be able to purchase tickets from any station to their destination station with the help of Paytm app apart from AAMAR KOLKATA METRO app.
The Chief Operations Officer, Paytm along with his team was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gupta, said that these new facilities would help commuters to purchase Metro tickets quickly and conveniently without standing in long queues and save their valuable time.
