Today is 23 March and is the biggest day of the annual sindhi calendar and to mark the occasssion of the Sindhu New Year today, the Vishwa Sindhi Seva Samity (VSSS) West Bengal chapter in association with Oasis Restaurant served free freshly cooked packaged lunch packets to over 100 needy people in 30, Park Street today.
Talking to www.thetravelandtourismtimes.com, Mr. Anil Punjabi, president of West Bengal chapter of Vishwa Sindhi Seva Samity said that the sindhi community wants to share the happiness and joy of the new year celebrations with the have nots of the society.
“Oasis Restaurant in Park Street is very popular for North Indian dishes and is about 50 year old, as part of its CSR activities during the lock down days, the restuarant owner, Pratap Daryanani , who is also a member of the sindhi community have been distributing free meals to the economically poor people of the society and is still continuing,” added Mr. Anil Punjabi.
“The third generation to run this restaurant is my son Rishab and we get great satsifaction in feeding the poor people and has been continuing since the lock down days. In our own kitchen our staffs cook the meal, pack in boxes and is served hot and fresh,” added Mr. Pratap Daryanani.
