KOLKATA, 23 APRIL 2023:
Vishwa Sindhi Sewa Sangam (VSSS) , Eastern India chapter organised Bumper Tambola today at Apsara Apartment in Kolkata today. The event was co sponsored by PNB Metlife and ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund.
Around 150 people from the Sindhi community of Kolkata participated in the event today. Over 120 ladies have played.
Some portion of the event will go to the noble cause for charity. Low cost airlines, Spicejet has sponsored free tickets.
Mr. Anil Punjabi, President of Vishwa Sindhi Sewa Sangam , Eastern India chapter said that VSSS eastern India is only fifty days old, but has already enrolled over 200 members and has been promoting Sindhi language and culture and celebrating Sindhi festivals.
“ It is the most vibrant body of the Sindhi community in the country which takes an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community and our objective is to unite the SINDHIS in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding and to financially support the people of the economically weaker strata,” said Mr. Anil Punjabi, who is also the chairman ( East) of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI).
About VSSS:
- The Vishwa Sindhi Seva Sangam started out as Bhartiya Sindhi Seva Sangam in the year 1998 vide an initiative of Founder Chairman Gopal Sajnani.
- In the 2017 years back, Dr. Raju Manwani joined as First International President (now International Chairman) and registered organization as Vishwa Sindhi Seva Sangam with Registration number F 73341 (1329/ 2018)
- The VSSS conducts its operations vide a Core Team, Advisory Committee, International Directors, Country Presidents, State Presidents, District Presidents and Centres (Branches) – currently in 72 countries and 27 States of the Indian Union
- Aims and Objectives include promoting underprivileged and exceptional (deserving) Sindhi youth aspiring to join the IAS/ IPS cadre with financial assistance, secure “Minority” status in the all Indian States, promotion of Sindhi Culture, festivals & language, ensuring every school that has a minimum of forty (40) Sindhi students, should have the Sindhi language in its curriculum while encouraging Sindhi Students to take diploma in Sindhi language which will get them direct access to Civil Services.
- Women empowerment, care for Sindhi Senior Citizens, adoption of Sindhi Nana – Nanis and Dada – dadis, Financial assistance to underprivileged yet deserving Sindhi Students, assistance in getting Sindhi girls of marriageable married and involving our Sindhi brothers and sisters in securing due Rights for the Sindhi Samaaj
