By 2027, the City of Gold will truly be a host of the Moon, and you don’t have to go about 2,50,000 miles away to see its original version in the universe.
Canadian based architectural firm, Moon World Resorts Inc. (MWR) has planned to set up four Moon shaped resorts in different parts of the world, including one at Dubai in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Set up amidst the backdrop of the iconic Burj Khalifa in DownTown Dubai, the Moon Dubai is all set to be a future architectural wonder in the middle east.
In recent times, Dubai has been a host to a number of world’s architectural wonders ranging from the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa built by the Emaar Group to the latest, Museum of Future.
The cost of the construction of the Moon Resort has been estimated at $5 billion ( AED 18 billion) and can accomodate 2.5 million guests annually.
The entire project will be completed within 48 months starting from the end of this year.
The 735 feet (224 metre) tall moon shaped resort will not only add celestial glamour in the Dubai skyline but will also be the latest playground of the astronomy loving tourists. It will also have a spa and wellness unit, an event space, a nightclub, meeting space, lounge and moon shuttle.
The resort will house 4000 luxury suites and will feature a lunar surface (where the visitors will wear uniforms of astronauts, enjoy the zero gravity and take a ride in a rover), which will be surrounded by a lunar colony.
The shape of the moon will be recreated using a carbon fibre composite material, which is a very strong and durable material. Moon Dubai will also have solar cells to generate power. The surface of the moon will be illuminated and will also depict the various phases of the moon.
The massive moon shaped destination resort will be set up by Canadian architectural company and intellectual property licensor, Moon World Resorts Inc. (MWR) and is proposed and co-founded by Sandra G. Matthews and Michael R. Henderson.
MWR plans to license four Moon Destination Resorts throughout the globe, one each in North America ( Las Vegas) , Europe, Middle east and North Africa (MENA) and Asia regions. It has also released a picture of the future Las Vegas Moon Destination Resort.
In its instagram page MWR says – “Guest Astronauts will be able to enjoy the moon’s authentic lunar colony by foot and by the unique hop on- hop off lunar rover’s – what a ride.”
The Convention Center at MOON will welcome exhibitors and attendees from around the world. The obvious choice for all Technology and Space Related exhibitions, MOON’s unique venue space will comfortably accommodate exhibits requiring up to 500,000 ft2 (46,500 m2) of floor space in combination with 150,000 ft2 (14,000 m2) of dedicated meeting space.

The Global Meeting Place at MOON will be a spectacular multi-level lounge, planet Earth’s largest. Based on an Alien Space Craft’s unscheduled crash landing, The Global Meeting place is the perfect venue to enjoy an out-of-this-world cocktail or two after a day touring the Convention Center or prior to an Event Center show.
