On the occasion of the Silver Jubilee Year of Chhattisgarh’s formation, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board has launched a special series of programs to promote the state’s cultural and tourism heritage. As part of this initiative, a unique traditional Chhattisgarhi and tribal cuisine competition was organized on December 9 at Dandami Luxury Resort, Chitrakote, Bastar.

Participants from various regions of Bastar took part in the competition and showcased the rich culinary traditions of Chhattisgarh by preparing a wide variety of traditional dishes such as Muthiya, Fara, Bafauri, Angakar Roti, Cheela, Chausel, Thethri, Khurmi, Doodh Fara, Rice Bhajiya, Urad Dal Bada, Arsa, Namkeen Fara, various types of leafy vegetable dishes, and traditional recipes made from Kodo and Chapda like Chapda Chutney, Chaur Bharja, Aamat, Meetha Bobo, and more.

In the competition, the Chandki Group from Mendrighumad won the first prize and received ₹7,000. The second prize of ₹5,000 was awarded to the Geeta Kashyap Group from Usribeda, while the Jagriti Group from Ghuragaon secured the third prize and received ₹3,000. The jury also honored all participants with certificates of appreciation.

The judges for the competition were Lohandiguda Police Station In-charge Mr. Ravi Baiga, Tehsildar Mr. Kailash Poyam, and Nayab Tehsildar Ms. Khushbu Netam. On this occasion, Dandami Luxury Resort Manager Mr. Nimesh Sahu, along with staff members Mr. Tarun Prakash Rao and Mr. Chandulal Sahu, were present.

This event organized by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board will play a significant role in preserving the rich cultural heritage and tribal traditions of Chhattisgarh while also promoting tourism in the state.
