A departmental review meeting was held on Wednesday at the Tourism Directorate auditorium under the chairmanship of Tourism Minister Shri Kedar Prasad Gupta.

In the first meeting held after assuming office, the Tourism Minister was welcomed by Tourism Secretary Shri Lokesh Kumar Singh. Through a PowerPoint presentation, the Secretary informed the Minister about the departmental structure, functioning, and the schemes being implemented by the department. Information was also provided regarding the updated status of state and central government schemes and the expenditure being incurred on these schemes.

Tourism  Minister was informed by Special Secretary-cum-Director Shri Udayan Mishra about the tourist destinations related to various circuits of the Tourism Department such as the Buddhist Circuit, Eco Circuit, Sikh Circuit, Jain Circuit, Ramayana Circuit, Sufi Circuit, Shiv Shakti Circuit, and Gandhi Circuit. He also provided information regarding the Tourism Policy, Homestay Policy, and Branding and Marketing Policy introduced by the Tourism Department to increase investment in the tourism sector.

In his address, the Tourism  Minister, Sri Kedar Prasad Gupta  said that the  Chief Minister Sri Samrat Choudhary continuously states that tourism is going to play a very important role in the development of Bihar. He himself regularly reviews the department’s schemes. Therefore, all tourism-related schemes in Bihar should be completed on time and the common people should benefit from them as much as possible, for which the department should remain actively engaged. Special attention should be given to ensuring that every small and big information related to the department reaches the common people. The Tourism Policy should be implemented effectively so that maximum investment comes into the tourism sector. An action plan should be prepared for organizing various mythological fairs and festivals on a grand scale.
The review meeting was attended by Managing Director of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Shri Nand Kishore, Departmental Joint Secretary Smt. Indu Kumari, General Manager of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Shri Chandan Chauhan, Joint Director of Tourism Directorate Shri Rajesh Roshan, Deputy Secretary Dev Shri, Deputy Secretary Neha Kumari, Assistant Directors, and other officers and staff members.
