Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Mrs. Diya Kumari, while addressing stakeholders from the hotel and travel industry, said that special focus is being given to “Unknown Destinations” and off-season tourism to provide new dimensions to tourism in Rajasthan. She said that the Tourism Department is playing the role of a facilitator and will provide every possible support to the hotel and travel industry to increase business. She requested stakeholders to bring suggestions, plans, and proposals from time to time so that work can be carried out with new ideas.

Mrs. Diya Kumari said that the tourism sector is most affected by global adverse situations. Following the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this dialogue session has been organized with the travel trade fraternity with the objective of converting tourism sector challenges into opportunities so that a new strategy can be prepared based on stakeholders’ suggestions.

Off-Season Tourism Will Be a Priority:

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the biggest need today is to develop Rajasthan as a “year-round tourism state.” For this, effective use of shoulder season along with off-season should also be ensured. She said that during peak season there is tourist overflow, whereas tourism remains low during monsoon and shoulder months. Weddings and major events are also fewer during these months. Therefore, work will be done on travel marts, road shows, and special campaigns to increase off-season and monsoon tourism.

Domestic Tourism Will Be Promoted, Rajasthan Road Shows to Be Held Across the Country:

Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari assured stakeholders that road shows to promote Rajasthan in different states will soon be started.

She said that Rajasthan has strong opportunities to promote domestic tourism. Suggesting special campaigns like “Holiday in Rajasthan” and “Visit My State,” she said these should be widely promoted nationally and internationally through social media so that more tourists plan their visits to Rajasthan.

Focus on Unknown Destinations:

The Deputy Chief Minister said in the meeting that areas such as Banswara, Jhalawar, Kota, and Shekhawati still have immense tourism potential. The department is working rapidly to promote these destinations at national and international levels.

Participation in Foreign Travel Marts Will Increase:

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Tourism Department’s participation in foreign travel marts has increased over the past one and a half years and will be expanded further. The department believes that participation alone is not sufficient. During travel marts, meetings with local tour operators, travel influencers, media, and agents, along with cultural evenings, Rajasthani cuisine, and presentations, will be organized under the strategy of “Make the Most of It.”

She said that the Rajasthan Tourism Department will also participate in the travel mart to be organized in China.

Mrs. Diya Kumari appealed to stakeholders that when they attend foreign travel marts, they should provide suggestions to the department regarding what more can be included there, such as meetings with local agents, media or influencers, and discussions over tea.

Changes in Monument Timings:

The Deputy Chief Minister said that for the convenience of tourists, many monuments and government tourist places are being opened early in the morning and kept open till late evening. This has already been implemented at places where security and lighting arrangements have been completed. Work at the remaining places will also be completed soon.

New Media Campaign Soon:

She informed that the Tourism Department’s social media and media campaign is ongoing. A new Rajasthan Tourism campaign will soon be launched.

Appeal Regarding Geopolitical Situation:

Referring to the appeal made by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister said that considering the current geopolitical situation and fuel conditions, carpooling and public transport should be encouraged.

Foreign Tourism Must Return to Pre-Covid Levels:

Mrs. Diya Kumari said that the number of foreign tourists visiting Rajasthan is still lower than before 2019. Rajasthan has to be brought back to that level again. For this, everyone will have to work together. Efforts will be made jointly with stakeholders at the Government of India level on issues such as aviation, rail connectivity, and reduction in taxes.
