- Review meeting of departmental schemes held under the chairmanship of the Tourism Secretary

A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Nilesh Ramchandra Devre, Secretary, Department of Tourism, Bihar, to review the progress of departmental योजनाओं (schemes). It was decided in the meeting that, to provide a better experience to tourists visiting all tourist destinations in Bihar and to ensure courteous behaviour, all employees and service providers will be given special training in collaboration with a reputed institution. The concerned officials were instructed to study best practices from other states and prepare a detailed presentation based on that.
Weekly review meetings to be held:
The Tourism Secretary directed that a regular review meeting will be held every Monday under his chairmanship, in which the progress of all departmental schemes will be reviewed. It was instructed that the presentation must compulsorily include comparative progress of the previous week and the current week along with related photographs.
Boost to digital promotion:
It was decided in the meeting to further strengthen Bihar Tourism’s digital promotion. Instructions were given to take necessary action to ensure a strong presence of Bihar Tourism not only on its existing social media channels but also on other relevant digital platforms, websites, and apps.
High-end hospitality and adventure tourism:
The Managing Director, Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited, was instructed to explore the possibilities of providing four-wheeler vehicles for eminent persons, distinguished and very distinguished guests visiting Bihar. He was also directed to conduct a detailed assessment of the feasibility of constructing hotels near the Karamchat Dam in Kaimur to promote adventure tourism and to arrange tourist accommodation.
New initiative for tourist number estimation:
It was also decided that the methods used in other states to calculate the actual number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting will be studied. Based on this, a detailed presentation will be prepared to develop a scientific and reliable tourist counting system.
The meeting was attended by the Managing Director of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited, the Chief Engineer, Joint Secretary of the Tourism Department, Joint Director of the Tourism Directorate, Officer on Special Duty, Section Officers, and other officials.
