(Procedures for Investors Leasing Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Units Being Simplified)

The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board organized a Pre-NIT Conference today on the theme of ‘Explore, Invest, Transform’. The objective of this meeting was to highlight the investment potential of the tourism sector in Chhattisgarh, to provide investors with information about available opportunities, government incentives, and facilities, and to discuss ways to accelerate tourism development through the PPP model and modern digital technology.
First, through a presentation, Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, Mr. Saumil Ranjan Choubey, provided information about the Board’s various resorts and tourism units to the investors and stakeholders present. He informed them about the properties’ locations, available amenities, key features, and their potential for growth in the tourism and hospitality sector. He explained that various properties owned by the Board are located in attractive tourist destinations, where better facilities for tourists can be expanded with the participation of the private sector. He also addressed stakeholders’ queries and questions, explaining various aspects of the lease and tender process. He stated that the Board strives to provide investors with all necessary information in a clear and transparent manner, ensuring maximum participation of qualified investors in the lease process and better management and development of these properties.
Addressing investors and stakeholders, Tourism and Culture Secretary Dr. S. Bharathidasan stated that after the tourism industry was granted industry status under the guidance of the Central Government and the state leadership, Chhattisgarh is continuously moving forward with a clear strategy for tourism development. Efforts are underway to expand tourist facilities and strengthen the hospitality sector. He added that the decline in Naxalism has increased the flow of tourists into the state, and Chhattisgarh’s tourism potential is reaching new heights.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, investors are also showing interest in the tourism sector. The attractive locations of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board’s resorts present significant opportunities for investors.
Addressing the event, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board President Mr. Neelu Sharma said that Chhattisgarh is a state with immense investment potential. Its tourist destinations are not just places to visit, but also a means to explore and experience diverse cultures, traditions, and natural beauty. All of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board’s resorts and hotels have always been a tourist attraction due to their beautiful locations. Chhattisgarh Tourism Board strives to ensure that the resorts not only attract tourists but also provide them with a better experience of Chhattisgarh’s tourism. Mr. Sharma said that with the decline in Naxalism in the state, investment opportunities in the tourism sector have increased. The department is continuously working towards a clear strategy for tourism development in Chhattisgarh and its effective implementation. Efforts are also being made to link the state’s natural, cultural, and historical heritage with economic activities and employment opportunities through tourism.
Investment process being simplified through a single window:
To ensure investors don’t have to scramble for various information and procedures and to ensure a simple and easy investment process, emphasis is being placed on facilitating investment through a single window system. The objective is to expedite the implementation of tourism projects by simplifying various procedures and permissions.
Information on subsidies and government incentives:
During the program, Mr. Amey Tripathi, Deputy Director of CSIDC, informed participants about the subsidies, incentives, and other government facilities available for investment in tourism and related sectors in Chhattisgarh. He presented a detailed account of eligible projects, investment facilities, and various types of assistance and incentive schemes.
*Promoting investment through the PPP model
* Mr. Ankur Garg, Partner and PPP Expert at EY, provided detailed information on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. He shared information on various aspects of PPP, including its structure, the role of the government and private sectors, investment, project management, and revenue models. The possibilities of accelerating development by leveraging private sector participation and expertise in tourism projects were also discussed.
*Tourism and security arrangements will be facilitated by Aadhaar’s digital identity verification
* At the event, Lt. Col. Praveen Chaudhary, Director, UIDAI, Delhi, explained the usefulness of the Aadhaar-based digital and offline verification system. He explained that this system can be useful not only for tourism but also for the police and other government departments. This can help in making the identity verification process faster, safer and more reliable. He explained the process of verifying the authenticity of documents through secure QR codes.
